My eldest son eats more than the rest of us put together (3 people) and struggles to keep weight on, in fact, he loses weight all the time (he is officially underweight)
My middle son is on a controlled intake and puts weight on and struggles to lose it.
Both are due to medical reasons. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Fat people always lie about how much they eat.

I have never seen any pictures or scientific evidence of cave men being fat, is that because they had to chase their food rather than sit on the sofa watching cave paintings?0

I've seen this happen to many people. Sad really, but that's the way people are - it just needs to be accepted. Unfortunately, too many people seem to enjoy persecuting a given group of people just beause they are 'different', whether they are blacks, Jews, Muslims or even larger people. It reminds me of the book 'Lord of the Flies' which I read at school.0 -
I agree, there are many many reasons why someone is over or even underweight and is is not always because of what or how they eat.
As I said before, my eldest is officially underweight with a BMI of 17 (and dropping), he will polish off a multi pack of crisps in one go, breakfast, eats 2 lunches, normal dinner, drinks full fat coke by the gallon, chocolate, cakes etc..plus of course the normal stuff, lots of veg, fruit etc, all in an effort to keep weight on. I once worked out he was having on average 5000-6000 calories a day and although he walks to school every day, he is not expending much of that on exercise to explain why he is still losing weight.
Middle son however has a low fat breakfast, no crisps, no chocolate, no sweets, one low fat lunch, one low fat evening meal, lots of fruit and veg and will put weight on having 1500 calories a day.....anymore and it really goes on! He walks a lot, swims every week, does exercise classes via a special scheme running in this area yet he is classed as obese. Unfortunately, he also has mental problems (aspergers) and brain damage (the area which controls apetite and the chemical balance thingimy watsit for metabolism - it is almost like Prada Willi and that has been suggested recently) which makes him obsessive about food and will get violent when he is thwarted, hence the multitude of locks on the cupboard doors, the multitude of new kitchen doors needed, the amount of injuries I have sustained and the requirement of strict control of what he is eating..he is watched like a hawk not only here but at school too (and when he was in hospital) to make sure he doesn't overeat. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
