Today I have mostly been sowing (lol)
planted out plants i raised from seed, curly kale and greyhound cabbage and earliest of all cabbage (or may have mixed up name of the caulis I still have waiting to be sown:))
Also put in mangetout peas and earthed up potatoes. Lots of signs of seeds coming up from 2 weeks ago so the soil must be warming finally.
Better not have anymore frost or my little hand-reared brassicas will have shot it! I have netted them this year to see if it makes any difference. bet i am still picking off caterpillars to feed to the neighbours chickens!

I bought some fruit bushes and fruit sticks(:rotfl:) really cheap at Focus Diy.
I got 1 x redcurrant (well established) far right of the picture...
1 x blackcurrant (well established) on far left of picture...
1 x mystery plant (it had no label) which i think might be raspberry...it's in the centre of the picture...can anyone advise what they think it might be?
At the back of the bushes there are 4 x small stick things in cardboard sleeves...these are 2 x blackberry and 2 x tayberry. They don't look up to much at the moment, but all of the fruit bushes/sticks cost me less than £12 for the lot, so i will be happy if only half of it produces.
In a charity shop I came across 3 x tomato gro - pots for only £1.50 each!
Planted 3 of the bags of seed potatoes pictured below....didn't quite realise how many i had ordered online last week...i just saw the 50p per bag sign and that was it....my keyboard nearly went into meltdown...:D

Today I am repotting my plants which I have put outside in the day time. Keep running out of pots and compost, my OH says this money saving is costing him a packet. Got raised beds ready to go, two are planted up, three more waiting for topsoil and compost. Traded one bed with my next door neighbour for 2 great big slabs to put infront of the greenhouse so well happy.
Slightly oftopic, but my Clematis seem to have a problem, they are green and growing well at the top but the bottom is dying from the compost up. Any ideas please? Thanks0 -
Clematis wilt?

Although this one says it's a top down thing, the shoots on mine that die seem to be the newer ones sprouting up from the bottom of the plant.
Today I put my courgettes out, and all the rest is going out at the weekend. It's been hardening off for long enough, and this last lot of frost has to be the final cold snap, surely?
Quite pleased with my garden at the moment. I don't know if it's because some of the plants were delayed but it just seems to be a mass of colour, which is unusual for my garden at this time of year. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks elsien, does indeed look like this, but has started from the bottom not the top. Am going to cut it all off and put into new compost and see what happens. Shame as I have cossetted them since last year.0
