I am saddened by some of the comments directed at the OP.
We all live in glass houses so the last thing any of us should be doing is throwing stones.

Apologies to the OP in advance but...
My father is on disability. Hes worked for 40 years but due to ill health no longer can.
i was living in my own house but father couldnt afford gas/electic/tvlicense/water bills.
I agreed to move in with him, rent free.
Now i pay the bills, have still got a tidy sum from selling my house and my parents are happy.
Do other people not think of doing this?
IF WE CARRY ON LIVING IN 1 OR 2 OCCUPIER HOUSES, we will soon run out of houses and land to build them on.
More OAP living longer, more children. Its only a matter of time.
Am i the only person thinking this?0 -
To the OP, contact your supplier and see if they will send you an energy monitor to help you see if you can get your usage down.
Prepayment meters may seem like the easy way out but in my opinion your landlord is doing you a favor not allowing them, you will be stuck paying the debt off for ages and paying more than you need to for what you are using in the meantime.
Whilst I dont agree with how Kimyeovil said it, I do agree that the best course of action is a couple of weeks hardship and getting the debt paid off as quickly as possible then switching to a cheaper supplier.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
