    I have details spudly...

the start and finish is on king's parade by the Liverpool Arena which is on the waterfront next to the albert dock. If you are not familiar with the area please follow the Brown Tourist signs into the city centre from any direction.

The nearest train station to the start is James Street on the Liverpool Underground which is a short walk to the start area. The nearest main line station is lime street from where you can access the Underground.

Me an Nats are going to try and do the race in 2 hours 30 mins....so if you want to come along we hope to finish about 12 noon....let me know what you are doing. I will give you DD2's mobile number you could give her a call...

Right, I'll have a chat with DH tomorrow see if me and DD can have a day pass for a trip out on Sunday :D;)

She says she does not like it when I use too many words - like she says "is it raining" and I say "It was earlier, looks like it still is" rather than "yes" or "I think so".

And I get it in the neck for being too terse. There is no right or wrong - just opinions. And like an arsshole - everyone has one of those...

She says it also means other people don't listen to me as much/respect amy knowledge and that reflects badly on her as I am part of her team. She says they tell her this.

Of course they do. The old bullshiit meter pegged at that comment...

When it comes to knowledge, you either know, or you don't. The "chattiness" or otherwise doesn't make any difference either way. The thing that strips things bare is a crisis. Ask yourself: When a crisis hits, are you given a spade to help dig people out, or given a colouring book to keep you out of the way?

I've been giving some presentations recently and someone told me that another presenter gives shorter answers to questions than I do, so gets to the end faster. I know this person is likely to be right. I've just always been like this.

So when they're with you, they get more detailed answers which may prevent them from skiving off early. I can see where the abject distraughtedness comes from...

I've been thinking that if I need to be very different to be much more senior, then I'm not sure I want to be much more senior.

Do you want to be more senior? Learn to love the taste of arrse...

Stand in front of the mirror and shout: I luurvve the taste of arrse! I love it! I love it!

If you can do that, then you have the makings of a senior manager. If you're lying, you'll be sorry, because that's all you'll be tasting...

I appreciate I could be more brief - but how do you change the way you communicate so radically?

You don't "change" as such. You add a new way of communicating to your repetoire. I can communicate without being sardonic. Just it's like speaking German...
