Cheaper Train Travel....
If you buy a network rail card from South West Trains you get a third off all travel. They are doing a sale right now and they are selling them half price for £10.
Its a pretty good deal really. Once you have purchased tickets to the value of £30 you have made your money back.

Does this stack up with one of the other railcards (like Young Persons Railcard)? I don't think it does?0

Bit confused.... "Network" railcards are for thr South East only, right or wrong?
If that's right, then why are South West Trains selling them?
Or, an easier question: "can I get discouted travel Bristol to London using this card?"
A good bargain anyway (at the very least for Londoners!) well spotted:T0 -
It depends how you define South_East.
Southwest Trains operate out of Waterloo in a vaguely southwest direction so the Network Card can be used as far west as Weymouth, Exeter, Reading and (using other operators) even up to Birmingham and Worcester.0 -

The difference is you can have this one if you are not a 'young person'0 -
I've had both a young persons card and a network card for south west trains in my time (not for 5 years or more now though)
I didn't notice any difference between them
you didn't get the 1/3 discount before 10 am or if you have to buy the ticket on the train (if you're late!) and i think theres retrictions on using rush hour trains particularly out of london
but a tenner sounds a bargain for 12 months even if you only use the train once every couple of months0 -

You can get from London to all of the places mentioned EXCEPT Birmingham.
See map of the area covered for where you can travel using this card.
And the big difference between this and the Young Persons Railcard is that the YPR can be used at peak times.0 -

Photocard not required. Yes, your name is printed/written on the railcard.0

Don't forget if you know someone with a "Gold Card" (thats an annual travelcard) for any train company in the Network Railcard area, or in London, they can buy you a Network Railcard for £1.0
-
Do you know, is there a limit to the number of Network Railcards a Gold Card holder can buy? Are they only for a partner?0
