Fraudulent car sales
I bought a used car from a main dealer (big company) and as part of that deal the car was to be serviced. They said they would and on collection they stamped the service book. I have found out that they did not service and are continuing to lie about this saying they did. I have a limited amount of evidence and the trading standards dude wants to know what I want from the garage. What should I ask for? I bought it in early Feb.

Loads of car dealers do this IMO - what proof do you have that it wasn't serviced ?
As for what you want - a service? :rotfl:0 -
Just what evidence have you that leads you to believe that it hasnt been service.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
They don't have records that match the service book, (they have made up dates and mileage) and yes it does need a service, but I don't have confidence it will be done. And they are lying to me, so I don't want them to get away with it. I am feeling vengefull.0

Oh and I phoned up to see when it was last serviced and they said it had never been serviced by them but now they have decided to change their story.0

Well in that case what you want from them is the cost of a service somewhere that is trustworthy...0

You seem to have minimal evidence that they are slow on the record keeping, nothing else.
What does the oil, filter, look like?
What type of service was it due? what was on the schedule for that type of service?0 -
Are you saying that the dealer stamped the book as though they had done all the services when in fact no service records are available?
ML.He who has four and spends five, needs neither purse nor pocket0 -
Oil black, running a wee bit rough, it was due a service etc. no need to go into that here. I have enough to know and for them to know I know, and evidence of lies. But they may still deny all. Trading standard guy agrees with me. What should I ask for.0

The moon.
You have no proof, well certainly none you are stating here, why the secrecy?
Even if you know, and they know you know, and you know they know you know, they wont admit they know, or even that they know you know.
ya know?0
