After all the looking and choosing our cake, a friend of mine rang me on Monday to tell me that her and her friend (who is a chef) are making my cake for definite now, the fruit has already been started!
Told her we want black and white and to suprise us!
We don't have to pay as it's my friends gift to us, which is so lovely of her ~ her friend is poorly though, she has a tumour and is having treatment at the moment ~ what a trooper she is though, mind you, she is a proper scouse bird lol!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

Thanks for all those, I am tempted to go down the cupcake route as just cant find a caker maker near us for anywhere near £100 - am in south yorkshire. I only need to feed 70 people, so am loath to pay £300

The only problem with cupcakes in Asda etc is that they arent in our coloursceme, grr! so need to keep looking i think!2011 biggies: £1000 holiday,£100 all saints voucher, £200 ticketmaster, Links London bracelet, Ted Baker watch, £50 Oliver Bonas

I am being shockingly extravagant (sp?) My sister is kindly gifting us the cake and told us to go nuts. We haven't decided on that part of it yet! However in the evening my aunt (who makes them professionally) will be making one in our colours (white, silver & blue) and we're also going down the cheese route with little ones for each table! something like

Have you looked at this site? I haven't used them, only emailed so far but they were very friendly. I'm sure there was someone on here who has used them though? If you read their information page they do give some warnings about buying from supermarkets. I know they are trying to seel their own products, but it is worth being forewarned of what 'could' happen

my mum and aunty are going to make the bottom fruit layer and all i need to do is find a baker at home that will make two other layers and ice the whole lot!
my sister got that done before but i need to check if the baker she used is still working, fingers crossed he is and that it won't cost a huge amount of money!0
