  • We're having cupcakes - £2 each plus £65 for a top tier to any design we want.

If you wanted, M&S do great cupcakes (I think they're either £3 or £4 for a box of 4) & you can get a stand from ebay.

10" fruit, 6" lemon sponge, ivory icing, fresh flowers on top - £190. The fruit cake is already made, wedding is in September so lots of feeding between now & then

Hi, we're having cupcakes, found a local lady that could make them and it's costing us £220 for 120 cupcakes and a giant cupcake for the top :)

Shamelessly stolen from wedding cake site

    Cost
A well-made and unique wedding cake design isn't cheap but there are ways of keeping costs down. One way is to choose a sponge cake rather than the traditional fruitcake, or perhaps have one sponge cake tier and the other fruitcake? Not only will you be cutting costs, you'll also be able to please guests whose taste palettes don't extend to rich fruitcake. Chocolate cake is also an alternative.

Also consider the importance of a unique wedding cake. A good wedding cake supplier will be able to customise an otherwise standard wedding cake design to match your theme colours, thus making it unique to you without the added cost of designing a cake from scratch.

So maybe you can talk to local shops and bargin with them?

My wedding cake was an M&s one. Luckily last year they ran a 342 on individual cake tiers so managed to bag mine for £75 but as i already ahd a £20 gift voucher managed to get it knocked down a bit more. It then cost £43 for the decoration. Similar cakes to mine have been priced up to £300. - link to pic - http://www.photobox.co.uk/my/photo?album_id=307260715&photo_id=653729027

We have ordered 35 cupcakes, with a top 'cutting' cake. Including the stand and boxes to put them in is costing just under £100!!
