    It was fine on the short test drive but was a problem on the way home, it over-revs. I will get a kit and accept his offer. Thanks

    That's the thing. Clutches work and then they start to slip. Until they start to slip there is no way of knowing how worn they are short of taking them out and looking.

    that is a good deal you only paying 50squid for a clutch kit...you did get the kit and not just the clutch?

    Mind you, I don't understand. If the clutch was dodgy on your way home from collecting the car, why have you waited for 3 months (end of the warranty) to get it sorted.

    If I bought a car, and identified a problem within a few days, I'd want it sorted pronto.
    I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

    I didn't, I bought it - then it was Christmas, then it snowed for two weeks, then I was in hospital and he had it once to fix. Then it was still bad and he didn't answer the phone for another two weeks, then I was out of the country. Now he has it again.
