I remember reading some really interesting stuff about Tea tree oil. Is that what the news was talking about?0 -
Boots own in a pinky purple box. Works instantly for my son, in fact he opens his mouth in anticipation when I get the packet out.0

I suppose if you feel it works, then that is all that matters, but as it is a money saving site, I wouldn't want people to go out and specially buy this powders unless they really believe in them.
"Unsurprisingly, when tested under rigorous scientific conditions, in randomised, controlled and double-blind trials, homeopathic remedies have consistently been shown to be no better than a placebo. Of course, the placebo effect is quite powerful, but it's a bit like justifying building a car without any wheels on the basis that you can still enjoy the comfy leather seats and play with the gear shift."

Never tried teething powders though I did use other homeopathic remedies on DS1, for a quick result I swear by Anbesol liquid.
BTW I'm not sure that it's possible to argue the placebo effect using a baby any more than you can with an animal.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Babies don't ever rate thier pain, we only have our intereptation to go off. A parent might feel farmer afterwards, which reassures baby and lessens symptoms.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

farmer? calmer?
possible I guess, but that's hardly objective evidence.
And my preferred solution for teething pain being firmly in the non-homeopathic camp might suggest that I don't always knit my own spaghetti.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

I'm not great at iPhone posting! Well done on guessing.

As I said before each to their own, but it has always worked for DD. And I'm not sure a temp of 102, in a 5 month old, down within 20 mins could be placed on the placebo effect!
Anyway I could get dragged into a whole debate here (research funded by drug companies, codex alimentarius and drug companies wanting sole sales of these 'placebo' drugs etc etc) but I'm tired from work and can't be bothered to type that much, needless to say I'll carry on 'wasting' my money on homeopathy and save the drugs for when DD REALLY needs them!

DD's teeth took forever to come through. We tried frozen teethers, powders and calpol to ease the pain but nothing seemed to be working and the things we were giving her didn't seem to be helping cut her teeth so I handed her a crunchy bit of garlic bread (the end piece) that had been (intentionally) in the oven for 3 or 4 mins too long...next day she had a shiney tooth popping out of her bottom gum, will be using crunchy bread again when DS starts teething, he's 10 months now and no sign of teeth so I'll guess that won't be for a while yet!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10
