You are so amazingly organised, I'm also hoping to get married later on next year but only have vague ideas so far. I'm finding your thread pretty inspiring, so thanks and well done you.

I don't know if anyone is interested in a Goth wedding like mine but there are some tips here:

Thanks for that. Have been to look around reception venue. As it happens, the "dive" of a pub where we got engaged (oh so long ago, at the millenium) has just been refurbished. They've said we can have the function room for£100, and can do the buffet for £5 per head but only count 75% (their words). Is this good? In case you're interested or could help me find one like it, this is what I've fallen in love with is at http://www.fairygothmother.com/70-r21sl.htm

Have you booked registry office then? We can't until at most one year previous. Still not sure about honeymoon, it's a toss up between Las Vegas or Punk festival in Blackpool (where we go anyway)

Cheers b-s for keeping me motivated and getting my bum into gear re: organisation. XX

    That dress is lovely.

I havn't booked the registry office yet but I will exactly a year before the day we want. It's not a busy one but I'm sure it will be OK.

I'm not sure about the honeymoon either. I'll have to see how much I've saved up by then.

Today I've rang the registry office and confirmed the date we want. So weve got the 20th September 2008.

Also last night I booked a photographer for £450. I managed to get a £100 discount because it was a referral from a wedding I went to at the weekend. I've also confirmed the limo and arranged to pay the balance off so I know that that's one more thing out the way.

Next thing I need to do is book a video man. The cheapest I've found in this area so far is £500. Anyone got any other ideas?

    Ring cushion - £1.49
    Rings - £260

    hi black saturn,

don't know if you are still looking for a videographer for your wedding?

if so have a look at http://eternityfilm.co.uk/index.html

not the cheapest but definately one of the best (me and misses sloth used them!)

if you are interested say paul and jo from hornchurch essex recommended them to you and you should get some sort of discount i think
