sorry but its not stealing it has cost nearly £100.00 to change name and admin cost ect, and if i didnt have sumone to go in her place which was looking very likely at the time i would of had to cancel and i would have lost all my money and also pay a cancellation fee as its 8 weeks off. plus then i would of had to rebook and the cost of that for the days the rest r going was more than i had to pay for the hol booked. and as she couldnt even b bothered to phone me just send a txt i fink that is quite rude too.
Yes you are right it is rude. And you may well have 'nearly' lost your deposits. But you didn't, so if you use her deposit towards your mates holiday then it is stealing, morally at least. I agree you should use her deposit to fund any additional expenses like name change on the holiday, but anything left over should be returned, not used to subsidist you and your friend.0 -

have i said that i wasnt giving the rest back im just asking for advice and 2 be honsest she will only get a tenner back. so its not stealing or subsiding my hol thanks
No - but you were asking whether you SHOULD give her it back or not in post #1
That implies part of you wasn't wanting to give it back, or you wouldnt have had to ask for advice
I understand it is annoying when someone pulls out, but unless you are actually out of pocket, you have no right to actually consider not giving the remainder of the money back.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Has she asked for it back?
I wouldn't, personally.0 -
Techically she is pulling out of a holiday and should forefit her deposit, that is real life and what a company would do.
Morally you should return the deposit, minus the cost of a name change, as despite being a daft thing and putting her new guy first, she is your friend. Plus surely you do not want a shadow over whatever your friendship now is, or indeed your holiday?0 -
she has send a word since the txt was sent. and im just realy anoyed with what she has done. and she calls her self a mate
For the sake of £10 or whatever, do you really want to stoop to the level of friendship she has?
She is bang out of order, but do not be back
I think this would be entirely different if we were not discussing £10, but you are and is it really worth the grief?0 -

Who has paid the change fee? Did the new friend pay it or did it come out of the deposit?
If you aren't out of pocket you shouldn't keep the deposit.0
