    No!

She has pulled out and you are incurring costs as a result. She forfeits her deposit. Simples.

Alternatively, deduct the extra costs you've had to pay, then give her the rest back.

No, use it to pay for the name change. Its not like shes skint as shes booked another holiday, and has left you in the cr*p by pulling out. Imagine if you didn't have anyone to replace her? You would either have to cancel or pay for her as the booking is in your name. i wouldn't give her a penny back. xx

It's strange but generally fairly true that the cost of changing a name is generally a very similar amount to the deposit ;)

Tell her that if you had cancelled which you nearly did you both would have lost your deposit, so she will be no worse off.

    Some friend eh.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Use it to pay for the name change and refund her whatever is left. She has been inconsiderate but that doesn't justify stealing from her.

I can't see how the question can arise. The travel company won't refund the deposit so the OP would have to do it out of her own pocket!

sorry but its not stealing it has cost nearly £100.00 to change name and admin cost ect, and if i didnt have sumone to go in her place which was looking very likely at the time i would of had to cancel and i would have lost all my money and also pay a cancellation fee as its 8 weeks off. plus then i would of had to rebook and the cost of that for the days the rest r going was more than i had to pay for the hol booked. and as she couldnt even b bothered to phone me just send a txt i fink that is quite rude too.

I would give her back what ws left of the deposit after deducting the cost of the changes

She is a friend...and it's only fair, you're not out of pocket after that.
