I had a few people concerned because I was naturally thin and they rarely saw me eating because I was up before them and my eating would happen at 7, 12 and 6 rather than 8, 1 and 7 and I'd clean the kitchen and wash my dishes when I was done. When they said something I explained it and although I'm fairly sure they were monitoring the food that vanished from my cupboard on a day to day basis that was it.

Thank them for their concern and ask them not to ask you questions like that because they make you uncomfortable.

    (I am probably over reacting...)

Last week, I was in the kicthen with the people I live with and one of them commented on how I never eat - I was heating something up to eat.

I walked into the kitchen yesterday and one of them said "Sofie, you've lost a lot of weight" and commented on how my tracksuit top was slightly baggy ... and said it's not a bad thing.

She has also made other comments lately and said a load of stuff that has really upset me and keeps on bringing up stuff I don't want to talk about and asking me really personal questions.

How do I deal with this please? Thankfully, it's only this week and next week and then I'm finished with uni.

'You never eat' is normally said because the person saying it is concerned about their own eating, it's an attention deflector.

'You've lost a lot of weight' is a compliment, or at least can be taken as such. Smile sweetly and thank them for being nice - the bonus is that if they didn't mean it this way you're going to annoy them by reacting positively, it's a win win.

If someone asks you repeated personal questions, you're well within your rights to say 'Sorry, I'm not comfortable talking about that' you don't need to justify why, or explain anything, just that they're making you uncomfortable and you'd like them to stop.

Try not to take evrything said to heart, sometimes people say things to fill a gap and just comment on what's around them. They don't mean anything by it, and if they did who cares anyway, you're the important one here!

Thinking about it, it does make sense. The girl who said that, I never see eat any more. Her excuse is "I have run out of money and food".

If you don't mind me asking, how much do you weigh and your height?

Me too! :D that's not underweight - perfect weight for your height in fact

Not sure what if anything is behind your housemates comments - probably more to do with whatever's going on with her by the sound of it - I wouldn't worry about it if I were you

By perfect weight I meant BMI wise 8 stone is in the ideal range (of course there are other factors to consider rather than relying on the BMI method)

I range from 7 and a half to 8 stone and I think both would fall in the BMI ideal range (20 -24?) for my height

If you are losing weight without trying to, you should probably discuss this with a doctor - unless of course you have already discussed the stomach problems and are aware that weightloss is likely to happen.

Other than that, we are all who we are. Try to believe the best in people and take this as concern - you say you usually eat when she is out - unless you are sure that it can't be.
