  • Reading all your favourites have reminded me of so many I have worn over the years, so of them I still love so much.

DD works for Elemis so looking forward to sampling their new one which has just been launced, has anyone tried it?

I sometimes think I suit aftershaves better than perfumes. My sister always smells lovely and has lots of perfumes, but when she gives me a squirt it just doesn't smell the same. :o

Right now i've got some Gucci by Gucci aftershave on. My son just bought it today - and it's lovely and citrusy (sp)

I like Diorissimo by Dior - very flowery, a bit like hyacinths and spring flowers - very nice!

Maybe you have male pheromones ;)

Must admit, I love the smell of Joop and will occasionally pinch some to wear!

Gawd don't say that. :p

I did wonder if i'd too much testosterone - but pheromones sounds better.

Btw, i'm not hairy or manly. Honest! :o
  • My 19 yo DD always prefers mens and buys them for herself. She got very cross with me when I discovered Burberry Touch and bought it one C'mas for hubby, she loved the smell so much but said she couldn't wear it cause it reminded her of her dad!
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

I'm a real stick in the mud - I've worn Hermes 24 Faubourg for about 10 years and when I got my first monthly salary some 25 years back I bought myself Chanel Cristalle and have been wearing it ever since.

That's not to say I haven't tried others - I went through a phase of wearing Montana in the 80's and discovered recently you can still get it - I'm seriously thinking about buying a bottle to see if it's as I remember

I cringe now when I think about some of my past likes - I'm sure I couldn't bear them nowadays - too intense. Just a few examples -
    Opium
    Cinnabar
    Estee Lauder Private Collection
    Giorgio Beverley Hills
    Clinique Aromatics
    Clinique Wrappings
    Lumiere
    Tresor
    Paris

We should start a thread for the perfumes of the 80's - that would be a real trip down memory lane.:)

Montana...i used to love that and i was always partial to a drop of Tresor :D

My all time faves now are:

Shalimar-Guerlain...mums perfume forever and one whiff and it reminds me of her.

    Contradiction- Calvin Klein.

    Escape-Calvin Klein.

Caylx-Prescriptives...but too expensive for splashing about.

Matthew Williamson eau de parfum its the one which i get most comments on and the cheapest

My favourites tend to change quite regularly, but these are the ones on current rotation:

Diptyque Tam Dao - isn't very longlasting though
    Vivienne Westwood Libertine
    Prada Iris
    Serge Lutens Douce Amere
    Narciso Rodriguez For Her
Urban Retreat Reverie (a bargain £6.25 in Boots atm)

i've actually bought the urban retreat one when it came out 2yrs ago as i loved it's old sophisticated smell, but unfortunately, the fragrance isn't very lasting at all which is a shame. i haven't smelt your other faves, but i'll certainly check out.
as i am v fussy about scent, the only ones i wear regularly are Chanel No. 5, and White Linen by Estee Lauder. i quite like Tom Ford range for men, but i tested the whole range and i couldn't remember the names of the ones i liked!:p
