I only ever have one scent at a time & have none just now because my favourite made by Lespa has been discontinued & I can't find anything even remotely like it :(

<snip> ... I usually prefer men's fragrances, most women's scents just smell of talcum powder to me & used to wear Dior's Eau Sauvage (very citrusy) & latterly Givenchy Gentleman (sucker for Patchouli) :D

Rive Gauche was my scent when I was in my 20's & when my current favourite was discontinued, I tried it again, & it smelled terrible on me, I was so disappointed. I think it must be because the chemical composition of my skin has changed over the years ...<snip>

ah well, back to the search, I'm currently investigating Penhaligon's fragrances
    update ...

I didn't realise at the time but Rive Gauche had been reformulated, which is why it smelled so different, & more recently I had a similar experience with Givenchy Gentleman, which I'd actually bought a bottle of & it was so awful I took it back for a refund, now that I've checked I find it's been reformulated too :(

I'm now using Penhaligon's Orange Blossom, which doesn't actually smell of orange blossom or oranges, it's like walking from shade into sunshine on a balmy summer's day :A

My favourite is Armani Code but I don't think it lasts long on me . I love the smell of Code body lotion . I also like Chopard Pure Wish and have had 3 bottles . Seems to be only available online now . Looking back through this thread , I used to love Moondrops + Youth Dew , 40 years ago !! Ma Griffe by Carven was another fave . Got some but the formula has changed + it's awful . Should have left it in the past . Anyone remember Memoire Cherie ? It was the perfume I wore on our wedding day but not available now . I like having quite a few smells to choose from depending how I feel daily . I couldn't just have one bottle to use at a time .

Amarige by Givenchy. Wear it every day.

Also love Chanel No. 19 but havent had any for years.

You're the first to mention my favourite!! Love 19. Fresh, green, clean.

For winter it's 22. Soft and floral and powdery.

Used to love von Furstenbergs Tatiana in the 80s and it's disappeared.

But then who can forget the classics of the 70s? Charlie, Loves Lemon and soft Baby scents?

Wait, Brut was big then as well:eek:

I like the two Vivienne Westwood Alice perfumes, especially Naughty Alice. I also like Magnifique by Lancome.

I never know how much to put on. I use a couple of sprays and no one can smell it, but I don't want to use a lot more and risk becoming one of those women you can smell from miles away.

I am loving Clarins Eau de Jardins (I think that's right) at the moment. Very fresh and spring-like.
