Look, I'm sorry, but as a new poster on here, posting a thread about your wonderful spreadsheet which reads highly like a sales spiel (yes, I did see it says "donate" and I do appreciate the difference, but still...), when there are thousands of entirely free spreadsheets and accounts software (many of which are mentioned on this site in various forms, budgeting tools, calculators and the like etc) out there just seems suspicious, and people aren't likely to warm to you.
Its still entirely free I dont see the issue, I came to this forum because I thought it was better suited then where i normally post.0 -

Grow up I'm not a fin troll... are you not trolling yourself with your highly constructive comment?0 -

In fairness i think the issue people may have is that your first post smacks more of self promotion then anything else. It's all a bit 'ME ME ME'. Just the way it comes over.0

Hmm, well, I can offer you some constructive criticism, in case you get a market for this thing.
Assuming cells J8:J16 provide the list for the validation in column G on the Account Expenditure tab, you should unprotect the cells for the account names, to make it more user friendly. Also, you need more than 8 accounts to please the people on MSE!
Also, your example category cells are protected, which doesn't allow the user to customise it easily - which seems to be your plan - you should take a look at that.
Only two payment types - bit limited?
And what about credit cards? Do you treat these just as Accounts on the expenditure tab?
If I were to want to use this, it would have to be a lot more customisable. I have 5 current accounts, 8 savings accounts, 5 credit cards, a purse and a piggy bank (well actually, it's a shoe). You've got to be able to handle an individuals personal banking set up, so it needs to be way more adaptable to these things.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Oh well sorry
I dont quite know what I am promoting other then trying to combine my introduction with 'here is a FREE spreadsheet'
As I said, I dont know why anyone new bothers if they get this for just contributing more then their 2p...0 -
Honestly, as benoit says, it's all about the attitude. The way a person manages their money is very personal, and differs person to person. To come on here and basically say that we'd all want to use your spreadsheet is a trifle big headed to be honest. Your opening post sort of read "look how much I've achieved, look how naturally great at money saving I am, look how much you can learn from me"; it really puts people's backs up. You'd be better off helping others develop their own spreadsheets - but you kind of have to wait to be asked for help.
Besides, we're a sceptical bunch. No-one offers something for nothing, and the presence of the 'donate' button just rings alarm bells...Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Er no lol, I just left it largely as I use it and thought it might be useful.LucyTheDwarf wrote: »Assuming cells J8:J16 provide the list for the validation in column G on the Account Expenditure tab, you should unprotect the cells for the account names, to make it more user friendly. It actually works the other way and you overwrite the names in the summary sheet. And there is space for 10 accounts, i just use only 8. Sorry if its not immediately clear (it details on the instructions.LucyTheDwarf wrote: »Also, your example category cells are protected, which doesn't allow the user to customise it easily - which seems to be your plan - you should take a look at that.
No you can overwrite them on the accounts expenditure sheet as detailed in the instructions.LucyTheDwarf wrote: »Only two payment types - bit limited?LucyTheDwarf wrote: »And what about credit cards?
