I have a similar month planned, with moving and rental deposits I have £53 spare this month for food/emergencies/petrol contribution and planned £60 for NEXT month. After that should be back on track again.
Tonight we're having veggie pasta (15p worth of pasta, 1 courgette, one onion, 2 peppers, 1 x spicy 65p Tesco sauce = £1 for two of us, (probably 3 - will be nice and cook for flatmate) with leftovers for lunch tomorrow (and thurs for me).
I sometimes get sick of pasta! best of luck Emmzi! Keep us posted with your m eals!0 -

OH and I did really well a few months ago and ran down the store cupboards before going shopping again. Emmzi, if you struggle a bit towards the end of the month and have some fairly random ingredients in the cupboard, try cookingbynumbers.com. You tick what food you have in the cupboard and the site comes up with a recipe! Not always a brilliant recipe mind, but could be something a bit different to vary meals a bit!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

I'm in for this one! I've luckily got a fridge full at the moment and did a shed load of veg which was looking sad (the olive oil and oven method) yesterday. I may turn it into soup.
Unfortunately, I only have the tiny freezer compartment in my fridge but am thinking about buying a tabletop freezer (I live in the smallest flat in the world and can't fit a proper one in). Any experiences of such freezers? I think it would be such a time, money and food saver. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Good luck! I spend £64 on groceries and household things a month so it is doable. I think the key is to make things stretch into more than one meal.eg leftover roast chicken can then make chicken sandwiches, chicken wraps and chicken soup (with the bones). And good luck with the job - do you have secretarial/admin skills ? If you do have you considered joining a temp agency? I do this in between jobs0

I don't think I'll join you this month. Although we plan our meals, we are no where near that sort of figure working on cutting down to £150 this month (only a family 4 too)£2 savers club = £52 - spending money for holiday0

Well I'm a family of one for £60!! I think £150 for 4 is pretty good going.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
