Which music player do you prefer?

I want to know what do you like to use for listening to music or for watching media files.

I use a mac currently so I use a lot of iTunes to listen to music. I've specially liked the ease of creating cover flow, which is pretty stylish. Before I've used winamp(windows) and amarok(linux). For watching movies or playing just random videos I usually use VLC, which can be found for free for every platform.

:A Now tell me what do you use and why? :A

I use winamp for music and VLC player for videos. Winamp I have used for the past 10 years and just like it, no idea why heh, and I find VLC player plays anything and everything :)

I use Foobar for my music as it's very lightweight on resources yet extremely customisable which suits me as i've gotten a nice balance between looking good and performing well with about 30,000 songs in it's list.

  • Well i use iTunes as i've got an iPod but previous to this i Windows Media Player which i found much better than itunes.

Only reason i use iTunes is that it intergrates much better and the playlists are good too

I have an iPod too and that might be one of the greatest reasons. And the fact that I use a mac.

Winamp was great. It's light weight app compared to many others and prefer it on windows. Though I think I don't have to be on that OS anymore(there, now I will become a windows develloper or something :) )

I have a Cowon i9 and a Sony X - I don't use any programs to listen to music on my PC or to transfer stuff to them, just Explorer to drag & drop.

You make it sound really easy. Wonder how I haven't heard of this SONYs device before.

There are a lot of brands besides Apple - Cowon, Sansa, Samsung and Sony are the best http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/

I use iTunes. It works very well (especially on a Mac) and Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes make it even more useful.

I add music and videos to my iPod Touch using drag and drop, something which people inexplicably think is not possible with iTunes.

i also use foobar and think it's fantastic.

i tried songbird and really wanted to like it, but just found it far too clunky and slow.

foobar just looks great when you take the time to set it up properly.
