Have you gone for Virgin Media (cable service) or Virgin National (ADSL service)?
Why will you no longer have a BT line? Cancelling Sky TV does not affect that.
To use Plusnet you need a working BT line.
But if you have VM cable then presumably you will take your broadband from them anyway?
You need to clarify what your existing arrangements are, as it's not clear.

    HI
I have gone with virgin for tv and telephone. The reason I didnt go for broadband is that i am only 3 months into a 12 month contract.

You didn't answer the question, but if you are getting your TV from VM then that is via their cable service.
So you will still get Plusnet via your BT line, which will be unaffected by installing cable.
However you are now efectively paying for two call packages, as your BT line rental includes a basic call package.

It's hard to see how Plusnet are going to provide you with internet access if you cancel the BT line that they need to use.

I'm afraid you may not have thought this one through properly.

That seems rather rash, as you will now have to pay Plusnet 9 months early termination fees, plus a £25 cease charge. And you won't have any broadband unless you take that out with VM at additional cost.

That could be problematic unless you can 'uncancel' BT first...

You don't have to sign a contract, the contract starts when you sign up online or over the phone. However under the distance selling regs, you have a 7 day cooling off period.
I would be more concerned about being able to cancel your BT line cancellation. I assume you are out of contract with BT?
