    What is the saying "There for the grace of god go i" that could happen to any driver.Children are unpredictable around roads tbh 6yrs old is way to young to be around parked cars on a road it is asking for an accident to happen they have no road sense at that age.

    It is good that the girl is getting better i think the OP does not deserve some of the comments if they were not bothered would they followed up see how little girl was probably not i would imagine .

    I'm very surprised so many are being so judgemental!
    As doodlesmum says, this could happen to anyone. For what it's worth, a faster than average reaction time is 1 ft for every mile per hour of speed. In other words, at 20 miles an hour even the most alert driver would travel 20 feet before even touching the brake pedal, breaking distance is on top of that.
    If a man speaks in a forest, but there is no woman there to hear him... is he still wrong?

    Totally agree with you Cuff.
    It isn't realistic for us all to drive round a 2mph to avoid negligent parenting and suicide attempts.
