To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -

morning all.
I did todays list yesturday so today i am going to go thru the bedroom and find clothes that are to small etc.
i also need to go to the supermarket and then re- do the living room
last night went relitivley well.
we arrived at frank and bennies, they were really good about bringing the cake out and singing happy birthday etc. but during the main corse DD2 got iritated and started groaning )she sits, rocks and makes a mmm noise) altho it was inconvenient the staff there took it quite well and carried on regardless. they brought the cake out and started singing. she started jumping up and down because it was hannah montannah. so nothing major happened, i was really pleased.
bowling was a complete nightmare, we went in and she refused to change her shoes, then she refused to play, then she kept putting balls down other peoples lanes, we left swiftly after that.
overall it wasnt to bad, much less stressfull than i thought.
Thanks so much for your happy birthday wishes.0 -
Morning all
It's grey and damp here today so I hope to get lots of flying done in here.
Am up to date with the thread but forgot to post these musings!:
rach huge congratulationsand the scan pic is great, it's an exciting time and the best roller coaster ride ever!
wilf thanks for sharing the pics of your DS

Not really posting ...but have read your lovely posts .. such a warm feeling that I am not alone with the housework dilemma (want and enjoy a clean, clear house[not the same thing but both reqd] but am basically a bit lazy - well actually not a completer/finisher but would rather be getting on with the next exciting thing) So I am using a modified version of the Flylady Anniversary schedule. Also my latest top tip is a swish and swipe of the kitchen before bedtime and laying up the table for breakfast. My friend does this and its ace - also she puts notes for family members in their cereal bowls - things like remember your Drs appt at 10.30 etc - so I have adopted that one too.So I am off to launch into Leather Wednesday - I need to sort through my shoes - they live in their boxes in the bottom of (one of) my wardrobes and I have a picture stuck on the end of each box for ease of selection ... anyway I have a couple of new pairs that need sorting out and some that are in the wrong boxes.

Hi :j
Many thanks to you all for your birthday wishes on Saturday - just got back from long weekend away at DD's and then on to my sister's. Ignored the internet for 4 days! You are all so good to be with :T. Had far too much/many birthday cake(s).
Just caught up with the old thread and will catch up with this one asap. Hugs to those worried and poorly. Welcome to newbies and returners.
Some serious catch up flying to be done....

Hi All
Did catch up last night but DH wanted the laptop just when I was about to post! All I can remember going to say is:
rose - you can definitely be an RE/RS teacher and an atheist - at it's basic level it's just a subject like any other and should be about teaching the study of religion, not religious instruction. I did theology to Masters level and a number of my fellow students didn't have their own faith. It obviously depends on context but in my view a good RS teacher should be about helping kids to think for themselves about life, the universe and everything and not drumming one religion into them!
sexy - was thinking about you yesterday, well done you - so glad it went well!
hex - my old job is the same in terms of churn - 5 of us left 5 jobs in 3 months and were all honest (me exceptionally so!) at the exit interviews, but the organisation didn't want to hear it and hasn't done anything about the problem...the boss!
I am telling my boss about being pregnant today. I know i don't need to yet but I'm fed up of keeping quiet and want my friends at work to know too! I had a confidential chat with HR yesterday so know exactly where I stand. I have made some notes and will type them up at work this morning so i can lay out my intentions re returning to work.
eek...better go, will miss the train otherwise!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
