    Hi All

rose - you can definitely be an RE/RS teacher and an atheist - at it's basic level it's just a subject like any other and should be about teaching the study of religion, not religious instruction. I did theology to Masters level and a number of my fellow students didn't have their own faith. It obviously depends on context but in my view a good RS teacher should be about helping kids to think for themselves about life, the universe and everything and not drumming one religion into them!

This is a great post Rach. I have brought my kids up not in any faith but to try to treat others how they would like to be treated and that what goes around comes around. DS2 says he thinks Buddhism rocks (apart from the not eating meat) DS1 has a friend who is a black Christian who has a great outlook on accepting everyone has different views and my DS really likes his outlook on things. To me they should be looking at all 'belief systems' and for that you don't need a faith yourself. What I don't like is how RE at our school is compulsory but mainly taught by the geog/history teachers who so don't want to be doing it.

leed - I hope DD's friend continues to recover

Diva - thanks for the update on Tris and Michelle

83rachel - glad your DD's birthday was less stressful than you thought

sexymouse - I hope you slept well last night and can tell your class the news soon

Megs Mum - glad you are finding a way of flying that works for you

Right I am going to wash up and start the paining - my sis will be here at 1:00 for a catch up so I need to get a wiggle on.

    Morning,
Sunshine and showers here today. I have a ton of washing too do. Three loads done already and a fourth about to go in. TD is on.
Kitchen is still looking good though:D

Sort of stuck for flying until this washing mountain has decreased in size. It's sort of spread between the hallway and living room at the moment. Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm knackered cos I only had three hours sleep last night and am going back to bed shortly:p

Monday ~ Living room, Hallway, Stairs

    Level Three
Vacuum hall and stairs.. all the way up to the top!!!!!
    Extras
    1. Wipe woodwork in the living room/s
    2. Sort spreadsheets/finances/meal plans etc
    3. 15 minutes filing
Tuesday ~ Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1

Remove and wash bed linen. (Cant until the washing has gone down!:p)
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..

    Wash windows and nets/curtains
Vacuum and turn mattress before replacing with fresh linen(Ditto above!:p)
    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Sort through a box or bag of stuff you've not looked at in months.. I am certain you don't need most of it
    Extras
    1. Binbag dance
    2. Wipe grotty paintwork.. touch up any bits that are looking shabby
Wednesday ~ Kitchen and Dining room
    Level One
    Mop floor
    Extras
    1. HHI
