    Evening everyone!

Been a busy day for me and just looked at the time and wow, exactly how did that happen!!

Took the plunge this morning after a very long and very helpful chat on here last night (thank you to you both) and well here is what is going on....and please any advice gratefully appreciated. I wouldnt even be this far if it were not for you all!!

Went to the CAB first thing this morning, was there about 2 hours and after lots of tears and telling the story from start to finish, I have an appointment to go back tomorrow to meet with a proper debt counsellor to help me sort the car, and all the other bits. The woman was soooooooooo nice and kind today, she just sat there and really listened while I cried and talked about it all. Now it feels like I have someone to hold my hand a little bit through the next bit of stuff.

I was also advised that I can not sign on for any benefits while listed as self employed and then told them the story of how I ended up having to go self employed because of advice from job centre (bad) and current living arrangements. I have been told to deregister immediately, so trying to work that one out, looks like a handwritten letter to rev and customs.

They are going to contact JC for me tomorrow as well and help me get sorted with the current situation, and help in hopefully signing on again, although I will have to start all over again with the 6 minths etc and will also help me with the housing thing. Was advised there is a walk in session tomorrow at the district council so will be doing that. Technically I can now be classed as homeless!

So had to run up to Yorkshire today and find everything I could for tomorrow, then run back here, do all the paperwork, put bills and letters and stuff in some sort of order etc.

Checked email in between all this running today to find out I did not get the job that I interviewed for on friday, and 2 mins later got a phone call from another agency advising I now have an interview on Thurs morn for another job. At least I am getting interviews, that is really progress!

I am shattered and of course there are other little bits that I sorted as well today. I NEED to change my bank account as that is another long story, but this time not my fault but the fault of my idiot ex!

I have spent a lot of time thinking over the past couple of days and I look back at where I was a year ago and where I am now and I can not believe how far I have fallen, all due to losing a job, forced out of homes (including the one I own thanks again to ex) I have lost nearly and literally everything, and have truely fought to survive and everyday is a real struggle but at the same time I have gained so very very much and so thankful for the things I do have..a wonderful son and his gf, amazing new and close friends, and I have discovered so much about my self.....now the rest just needs to start falling into place, who knows maybe today was the start of the new beginning. guess we shall see.

Anyway, am really sorry for going on and on...just wanted to share things with all the people on here who I not only consider very dear friends, but wonderful extended family!!

Thank you and warm hugs to all xxx

Wow Munchki, what a day. Glad you are getting some support and advice and that the woman was so nice. Feeling quite emotional on your behalf so won't say anything else other than hug returned.

  • Munchki so glad you went to CAB, they are very good, I had a debt counciller help me once and they take a lot of stress off, also they have a bit of clout and can do things like getting intrest stopped
Hope everything starts taking a turn for the better,Im sure it wont be long till you get a job, and at least you can claim till you do, once you sort out self employed status
Sometimes when you feel down you carnt face sorting things out but when you do you feel so much better, and CAB will support you,it will be one less thing to worry about ,and you will be able to focus on other things

all the best and good luck getting sorted
