well I did that so much first time round when it was "you should make merkins" that I thought I should try and hold my tongue a bit this time round cos I seemed to be heading in the same direction again:D
lol-yes enough of your ideas missy! ...wont be saying that when i'm a merkin millionaire..
Bought some sixpences for the site and obviously as most of them are 50's and 60's they are dirty, i've given them a clean in jewellery cleaner and they are clean but not shiny. I could use a stronger cleaner but would you think they'd be better left as they are? after all they are all old coins and might look odd if they are shiny? Think someone on here was selling lucky pennies (sorry cant remember who) ..was it Elly? and they were asking about whether or no they should be cleaned ages ago...cant remeber the answer either tho!0 -
With all this mention of tweets I thought i'd better go and look as I havent tweetedf ro ages, turn out I 'did one' yesterday...thought I was losing the plot til I remembered Dilli had set up my website to link to twitter when i update my blog!!
So I can confirm Dilli-It works!!0 -
Can anyone please give me some ideas for a gift for my grandma? She's getting entered into the Catholic church on Saturday - she decided to do it when we lost my mum to cancer, as my mum had done the same thing some years earlier and my grandma has found a lot of peace through the church she went to with her. I'm a bit stuck because as we are not really religious ourselves, we don't want to get anything particularly religious but as she has breast cancer, is going through chemo and has lost the use of her right arm it's difficult to think of anything; OH said a locket but she already has three chains and anyway can't fasten anything herself. Bless her, she looked really poorly last time I saw her,I just don't want to get her something useless or meaningless, iykwim? xxI have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0

A nice rosery *my gran always had her with her* or a little bible that is small enough to take with her, yet large enough print to read and have her name put into it...
Was just thinking of things that my gran loved while she was ill.I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
Paula - Maybe a photo album or scrapbook? Really classily done though. Maybe with space for things from that day aswell. Memories may well be more important to her than material things.0

M&P - huge hugs, think we have lots to chat about eh. Do hope you are feeling a little better tho, I know how overwhelming everything must feel right now! xxI am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0

Paula - don't know whether it is any good, but my mum once bought my nan a pearl covered bible with a silver bookmark, wasn't expensive, but it has had pride of place by her bed for the last 30 years. Grandparents are always the hardest to buy for. sorry, can't think of much elseturn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0
