I know I am the same, much to the disgust of OH, he knows if I had to choose between him and the cat the cats would win though! So he keeps his mouth shut! We move around a bit though so it is not just £50, it is £50 from 4 houses, plus the £65 to get the carpets done everytime, so they have cost me a bit to keep, but wouldn't be without them.turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0

I think the ideas about a village are really good but heres a thought for right now. Shoot me down if I havent thought it through properly, but.........
how about everyone with a website/ebay link/blog/anything else PM me their links with a brief description of what the link is and what they are selling.
I will then put it all together in one email and then PM everyone back with the full list.
This way, we are keeping with the MSE rules about promoting your own sales, and everyone who wants to be involved can see who sells what.
Hope this makes sense, it does in my head!!
I think thats the kind of basic idea Amber was going with.... once everthing was on one site, then PR the hell out of it....
But a very good idea in the meantime.... might even help Amber in the site building....sealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0 -

Heeellllllooooo Rachel! x
Elly - lol, love it! however, even though Cromer is only 30 miles away, here in country bumpkin land, you will be on B roads the whole way so it will take you 1hr30mins to get here and thats if you don't get stuck behind a tractor! Me and Rachel will meet you half way! xxturn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -

Well I can afford the rent which is good, it is fully furnished etc....the only drawback is the ex lives on the site, but then he travels so is never around anyway and will prob be moving again soon anyway, not that I care anyway lol. I crave and NEED cheap, peace and tranquility right now and I love it out there and would not be far for me to commute to work either. they really are dinky tiny but perfect. guess this means I would have to find a buyer for my huge king size bed tho lol as there is no where to keep it and still dont know what I will do about books and boxes as no room for those either!! Keep thinking I should stretch a bit further to a slightly larger place otherwise I could be looking at a storage place as well!
What would be ideal is if I could find two housemates and snatch back the house that we own together and kick his son out and keep it myself lol.......

Evening everyone. Took some real concentration getting everyone's ideas in my head, but thought I'd add my bit too.
Re the private forum - I have been starting my own little business, not got far with it yet, just a few bits on ebay, but the idea is that I will end up with a website eventually. There are so many people on here that I haven't really talked about it as I'm not sure I've got it right yet and it is soooo public on here. So the private thing would really suit me as I'd really love some help in sorting pricing out etc and getting advice without it being too scary. I'm sure there are other people who feel the same.
Re the village - has anyone else been on MoshiMonsters? I know we talked about it briefly before. Its a website for kids, a bit like Facebook but kid friendly. There is a village street in it and you click on the different shops and enter in order to buy things. This is what I picture when you are all talking about the website - it's a great idea.
As for how it would work, the thing that springs to my mind is that anyone with an actual shop selling things would have a percentage of their sales go into a central pot. Anyone offering services to the people with shops - like website help, seo help etc would have a percentage out of the pot. Then they wouldn't feel that they were doing it for nothing and it is to everyone's benefit to get the various shops selling well.
I do think that there should be a subscription that would prevent people joining just to get free help. Maybe that should go in the pot too? It would then pay for the running costs etc. We could have an online bank account that the top tier of people running it could access and that way it wouldn't put the onus on just one person to keep the books straight.
Not sure if that fits in with other ideas or creates more confusion, but hope it helps.:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
I like Ambers idea a lot and I don't see the other ideas as meaning ambers idea wouldn't work in fact if the other idea came off it could be listed on ambers site just like all our other businesses etc.
I think its a fab idea.
what I like about cagnes idea and associating it with a village is that it gives me another channel as at the moment I don't have products to sell. so I could contribute by writing articles and other ways and still be benefitting the venture and possibly making money too.
Think ambers is something that is nearly set up and ready to roll which is great and gets us all central PR etc and the other idea would take longer to set up and get working but could generate income in its own right.

hmmm, thats a problem! See what they say about the kitty, you could always get a pop up shed for storage and take it with you or skip it when you move on. A larger place would prob be better, but can understand why you want that one, it looks so nice and peaceful! Still tenancy will only be 6 months, so you could always use it as a temporary starting block, at least then you could afford to move sooner rather than later.turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0
