I few days ago I purchased a new O2 contract phone from e2save.
Forgive me for thinking it would actually be EASY to transfer a number within the same network... O2.... in order to do it, apparently i would now have to return the handset. I mean, what an !!!!!!... is there no end to the rubbish systems these companies have?
This is an old O2 PAYG mobile number I want to keep. But jeez, I was told by one woman in an O2 shop that O2 customer service could do it if i called them within 14 days. However, e2save say that it cant be done unless I send the handset back to them... they were saying how the way its billed and O2 "direct" have something to do with it?
Technically, I guess i could just cancel the contract - since it hasnt even been 7 days yet.

You will find no end of headaches with trying to transfer numbers within the same network
Its not just o2, theyre all the same.
the easiest option (although it takes appx 14 days) is to transfer or "port" the number yto a payg sim from another network, then ask that network for a PAC and port the number back to your original network!
Crazy but true!0 -

but don't forget that O2 may not let you port in once the contract has started.0 -
I had similar problems, so I called 02 and cancelled the contract, on asking why i was cancelling, i told them about transfer of number, Hey Presto, they offered me the service with out any hassle. Its amazing what they can actually do for you, when they fear losing you.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
