    The DVD/VCR doesn't need to be tuned into the TV if you are using scart.
  • Oh right its just that when we looked the other night i couldnt tape off freeview at all !
    You will never believe me when i tell you i worked for ENDEVA cleaning tvs retuning them and vcrs about a year ago and now not a clue !

    How was your Freeview box connected to the DVD/VCR. If it was scart did you select an AV input to record from?
  • well its all been connected by scart everything is and has been and the kids video which is playing at the mo is on av1

    No you should select AV to record, normally AV2 if that is the scart that is connected to your Freeview box.

    The problem as I said before is that your VCR will not record an RGB source and this may be what your Freeview box is set to output. What make of Freeview box have you got?

    I was looking to see if I could find a manual but no luck so far.

    If you can't change the output you may have no luck recording. We'll see what happens when you connect it to the scart box.
