I have always wondered the same. I think maybe it was because at one time they were a lot cheaper than other supermarkets, but I don't think they are anymore, in fact on a lot of things they are a lot more expensive.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I go to sainsbury's a lot more now. Even when they refuse a coupon (when I forget the dove are bogof;)) they do it so nicely and actually apologise for not taking it.

Blue - where is your thanks button?

    Its back!!!

I definitely spend MUCH less at Tesco now. I did get a bit in there on Tuesday, as I had 2 x £6 wys £40 till spits with different barcodes.;) I had £13.25 in mocs off of my shop altogether and am stocked up on things I'd have bought over the month, so they'll get even less off of me over the course of the month.

Popped into Sainsburys last night to pick up a couple of bits and timed it perfectly. Spent £8.xx in total. Take off the full price items I went in for and the remaining £3.60 paid for :

    2 x 2kg bags of white potatoes
    1 small bag Rooster potatoes
    1 bag sweet potatoes
    2 bags spinach
    1 cucumber
    1 punnet of grapes
2 packs of 3 mixed peppers [lovely & fresh - unlike Tesco full prices ones a a rule!]
1 pack baby cauli & broccoli
    1 pack baby aubergines
    1 pack oyster mushroom
    1 pack chestnut mushrooms

And on top of that, the lady doing the reductions was absolutely lovely - smiley, polite, chatty and helpful. Tesco take note! There are some lovely people on my local Tesco, but some make you feel like the scum of the earth for wanting some bargain bits.

Line supervisor even said to me "NICE TO SEE YOU BACK", god I was shocked, not used to nice attitude. However, after alot grief in my local T's I did get on with them really well.
