Morning all
.
If we are not happy with T's not taking competitor conditional spend coupons don't shop there otherwise shut up and move on... :rotfl:. I know I used to 'bump' up my shopping basket to get to the next level so they have done me a favour - I won't buy stuff I don't actually need just to get another £2.50 or £5 off.
They are getting a lot less of my monthly spend - it's now who has the best bargainsIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Did my weekly shop at T's last night - usual mocs accepted ok and was pleased as I got a hefty £24 knocked off my bill. I agree with others that this was a 'Brucie bonus' and accepted it as such and not something that was my right.0

Forgot to mention that I noticed that there was a sandwich board type thing outside T's saying that Sainsbury conditional spends were accepted and after Lidl being stopped its something to keep in mind. Are S going to release some BTW, does anybody think?0

Don't shoot me down but I think that the continuous e-mails and phone calls to Tesco about non acceptance of other companies conditional spend coupons is not going to help.
This is not a right but a concession by them to get you into the store to spend more money. I can understand the frustration when individual stores won't take them but once they make a national ruling to refuse a particular coupon, I think everyone just has to accept it.
As with mocs that we used to spend as cash, good while it lasted but no reason that it should be for ever.
I think that you will shortly find that Tesco will stop taking any conditional spend coupons, other than their own, if there are too many complaints.
Any comments from anyone?
I agree with you 100%. I have been having problems at my "actual" local Tesco at the moment with accepting any coupons so I am, once again, boycotting them. I suggest if you are having problems with Tesco that you shop at another store, Tesco will get the message when their sales go down. My local Tesco keep changing their mind on coupons and I believe this is because the store is like a ghost town (they only relax their coupon policy when they want the business to pick-up). I'm sure the manager is blaming the loss if business on the major roadworks taking place right outside their store and head office believes the manager but if the truth be known it's because the staff are nasty and rude and they are playing silly games with accepting/not accepting coupons. I for one don't have time to waste shopping just to find out when I get to the till I can use some coupons but not others. My last shopping trip was a disaster but more of a loss to Tesco in lost sales than to me. Instead of buying over £40 worth of groceries I ended up with just over £11 worth because they are playing silly bu**ers with coupons. I had a migraine at the time too so I didn't argue but I did tell the SA that they will be sorry when they are looking for another job because the store isn't doing enough business to keep all the employees. I could tell that she had never thought about that before as the smile came off her face real fast and I could see the little wheels turning in her head when she realised I was right! Every time I have been in that store for the past 3 months, there are always more employees than customers (a ratio Tesco will not be able to keep up for long). Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrison's, Aldi, Lidl, Netto and any other store I use instead of Tesco will be very happy though for my business that Tesco will not be getting because Tesco are being idiots. It does make me wonder how they got to be so big when they treat their customers like sh*t?!! They need to be brought down a peg or two to wake them up!!!;)Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -

I had some £6 off £30 spend in the post the end of April for use in May. I did use one in Tesco on Monday after a bit of an argument with a but-in-ski supervisor. She tried to tell me I couldn't use it because I had use other coupons so I wasn't actually paying in cash over £30 to which I told her that just because I was using coupons doesn't make my total shopping value any less and that coupons are money too as they get the money back from the manufacturers plus a 2p bonus for accepting each coupon but she decided to go check with someone higher up as she was sure I was wrong. 10 minutes later she came back and said it was fine to take it, I had told the SA that if I had known she was going to disappear for so long that I would have just used the coupon at Sainsbury's as I was going there next. The remainder of my Sainsbury's conditional spends will be used at Sainsbury's as Tesco can kiss my @ss especially since they won't be seeing it much anymore!;)Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -

I agree entirely with you Sher - normally when I shop on a wednesday evening you can hardly move in the place - last night there was hardly anybody in and no queueing for a till. T's will soon change their policy if they want business to pick up again.0 -
