Happy Birthday to Essex girl :bdaycake::bdaycake:have a great day xxx

    Morning all,

Its been raining all night, but seems to have stopped now, hopefully it will brighten up later, and I have three loads of washing, one is in wm, and 2 to follow.

I have been out and topped up the bird feeders this morning, they empty them so quickly, we also hung the bird box on the side of the house last week, so I hope we get a bird nesting in there soon.

Dinner tonight for OH and I will be chilli, which I double cooked last time, and shoved half in the freezer, so just the rice to cook. DD is off to her mates for a sleepover, so she will eat there.

We have a load to take to the tip today, so might take that, and then pop into B & Q to look at the doors, 20 % off this weekend :money:, I cant remember who it was but someone mentioned a new paint stripper ????? could you let me know the name of it, thanks.

I bought a half price leg of lamb from sainsbugs this week, £8, which will do us as a roast tomorrow, and I hope another 3 nights during the week.

Jackie you have got me wanting some smoked mackerel pate now, think I might get some with next weeks shopping, hope Frank is doing ok xxx

OK have good days all xx

Very wet and dreary here this morning. Was planning to do some gardening today but think that will have to wait.

Thanks for all your good wishes re DH meeting its next Friday an dd driving test so big day for us:eek:
Might pop to B & Q for some new wallpaper for chimney breast , just fancy brightening things up. DH might even put it up today if I ask nicely:D

Very sore shoulder and neck today so probably a hot bath. I am like this sometimes so no big deal but just makes everything hard work.

DD is making tea so nice rest for me. Might start crocheting a scarf for sil for Christmas if my arm gets working.

Hope its sunny where you are:j

Morning all..................(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

A dull morning but no rain, we could do with some, its very dry here, the wind was whipping up lots of dust yesterday. I spent a couple of hours in the front garden and managed to finish digging the border against the house, the last yard I have painted with deep root weed killer, most of the vinca was growing out of the wall of the cottage. I have planted the white rose in between the bedroom windows, it is shooting quite well. I need to get some general fertilizer.

Up early this morning we have an appointment in Coldingham at 10am so need to leave here just after 9 0'clock.

Needing something to do in the evenings when watching TV, I bought some acrylic baby wool from Aldi, I have knitted up a couple of little baby sweaters which I will donate to a charity, I have enough wool left to do another couple of cardigans to go with them. They are quick to knit, I can do a sweater in a couple of evenings.

No plans for later today as yet....will see how we feel when we get back from our trip.

Liver and sausage for supper tonight.......

    Morning all

    Happy Birthday Essexgirl!!

Woke up at 7am today, don't think my body clock will ever let me have a lie in again! :rotfl: I read for an hour, and will go back to my book once I've posted. WM went on during cheap leccy time, on airer now but not sure if it will dry today as heating is off now. May need to finish off in TD tonight.

I'm eating leftover takeaway pizza for breakfast :o Got enough for dinner too tonight. Not healthy or OS but yummy!

It's horrible weather here, wet drizzly rain and windy. I'm off to town later to go shopping and have lunch with the girls.

Hope you have a good day all.

    Morning all
    Happy Birthday Essex Girl.
Hugs, commiserations & congratulations for anyone I missed last week.
Hubby was supposed to start work at 8:30 this morning, at 7:45 his mobile rang, it was a delivery driver waiting with a parcel, so we jumped in the car & got there in 5 mins to sign for it.
We went to the Carvery yesterday to celebrate finally being solvent, yummy.
Today I shall do housework, WM & DW already on & will be going on for the 2nd time soon, very damp out so the washing wil go over the maiden. Hopefully the house will be calm & gleaming by the time I collect hubby.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    Good Morning Everyone!

Happy birthday Essexgirl, Hope you have a beautiful day.

Glad to hear Frank continues to do well, Jackie. I am still thinking about him and Tris.

Well, WM on, DH and DS2 out to football, he is playing at home today, so they should be back filthy and exhausted by lunchtime. I'me going to sick on some soup for lunch to go with the 5p baguette OH brought home last night, and and do some baking for the tin. MIL was here for dinner last night which was delicious even if I do say so myself, we had veggie sausage casserole with roasted sweet potato and red onions, cauliflower corn on the cob and yorkshire pudding. I managed to somehow only buy one pack of Quorn sausages this week, and so we had 4 between the five of us!! I was embarresed though as she refused a bicuit with her cuppa, then reconsidered and asked if I'd made them myself, and when I said no, she decided not to bother. Oops, think I've been letting things slide a bit too much.

I'm going out to plant up my spuds and plant on my tomatoes and peppers, although some of the seeds have failed to germinate, which is a bit disappointing, but I'll try them again and see how it goes. The final repairs are being done by the builder to the house next week, and then the redecorating will begin, so I'll be trotting off to B and Q at some point this weekend for paint and possibly some fancy wallpaper for the lounge and kitchen/diner.

Have a gorgeous day, hugs to all the poorlies and stressed. SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!!

Just wanted to say that The Old Style Resource Bar is such a nice friendly place to visit. I've become increasingly hooked on this money saving website & post at many of the other sections. I'm a bit thin skinned and when I recently received a few nasty comments when posting in another section of the website, it was 'good ol' style' that I visited just to feel soothed....

When I was a teenager & going through a rough patch with Mother I would go running upstairs to Granny's granny flat where she would sit me down & give me a ginger wine & biccies & listen to my tale of woe. She was so loving & kind. Old Style has that kind of feel to it.

So, thanks to those of you who are kind & supportive, it's much appreciated. :T

    Hi Joyful,

Welcome! :) I'm glad that you like the Old Style board. :D I've added your post to the daily thread as some lovely people post there and it's the best place on Old Style to get general encouragement and support.

Lowesy – so pleased to hear all your good news! I hope you had a fantastic celebration with your OH.

I’ve just been fed a lovely fry up. So unhealthy, but I did too many potatoes with tea last night and they needed using up…

Lots and lots to get done today:

Check smoke alarm (done. OH did bacon.)
    Take Puppy-Dog to training
    Laundry
    Baking
    Vacuum
    Accounts
Tidy the garden. If it ever stops raining.

    Hugs to everyone
