Hypno you are organised as ever. I'm going to do my holiday and (sorry) Xmas budgeting tonight. Just need to know what I can/can't spend before I start booking loads of tickets for the Fringe and buying bits online for Xmas and then realise I can't afford it.

I have the princely sum of £2 left in my purse and £3 til Thursday but all okay as I have food in. My mate is coming round for tea on Wed so am just looking up the cheapest place for my fave crisps to put with cheap dip as our nibbles and I have the main in and the £3 will do the wine. SORTED!

Excellent souk! I had a NSD today, so still have £1.70 in the grocery envelope, and £2.85 in the spends one.....

Apparently our pay may go in tomorrow rather than Wednesday. Whilst that is nice to see, it just means it has to last another day!

What would you do with a load of coconuts? My kids won 18 at the school fete this weekend.

PS we are eating yellow stickered mince tonight too - with a jar of pasta sauce won at the school fete..... the £4 I gave them to spend at the fete has proved not a bad investment!

I was also given some frozen kippers, so can make a kedgeree type dinner out of those, with some frozen veg thrown in and a boiled egg chopped up over the top.

Plus two pheasants shot by my boss.....which I may do in the slow cooker with some fruit.

And of course I have the usual supply of leftovers in margarine tubs......which of course I never labelled so are ideal for real "pot luck" dinners :o

    Carrot cake :D

Or thai style food - make some yummy soups and curry sauces. Deelish!

And of course just cutting it into chunks for munching on while you watch the telly.....

And if you get fed up of eating it, use the liquid for shampoo......great for keeping headlice away, as the coconut oil suffocates the little blighters!

i have got some lovely coconut recipes from my Sri Lankan colleague - however doubt the likelihood of my grating all that coconut flesh.

now you mention it, it is some years since I last saw a headlouse. I never believed the day would come when I could say my kids are all 100% louse free!
