Hypno, you said yesterday that this was a race day, didn't you? Hope the yawning has stopped long enough for you to drive - and that DD and DS do good!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hypno, I am glad that you had a nice "pampering' day yesterday. Good news on your DD finding a fiver - sounds like she has your sense about money too. There is nothing nicer than taking time out to just sit and chat. I think that when we can do it all of the time then we start to forget the importance and dont enjoy it in the same way. If nothing else debt busting and light bulb moments have a way of making you stop and appreciate the small things in life. My most favourite (free) thing to do is to walk the dog in the forest. I am often aware of people who march through the forest on the chore of walking the dog. I have learned to amble, stop, listen to the birds, watch the squirrels, search for the woodpeckers when I can hear them, pick some wild flowers (free for the house, this week I brought rhododendron cuttings home) and smell the air. Sounds strange but it is the best stress reliever if you just concentrate on what you are doing in that moment. Enjoying the coffee was probably more about the fact that you are learning to enjoy the moments in your life that are precious. You are most certainly heading in the right direction if you can take pleasure from the little things yesterday. There is nothing wrong with enjoying shopping (in moderation) and if you do it little and often you enjoy it much more.
Spirit I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. May her spirit soar. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Another race day done - DS skied out......again.....that's a problem with growing lads, when they have a growth spurt their co-ordination goes as they have more length of limb than they did last week, or last month, and they are not quite sure what to do with it. Still, he learns every time it happens, and thankfully it was only just over an hour away, so we managed to get an early finish. I did struggle to drive home, though - I should have put caffeine in my flask rather than my (now) usual decaf.....
But I am back home now, and apart from folding some washing and loading the dishwasher, there is little that really needs to be done, so I will do the minimum and catch up with the rest during the week.
