Typically it was bright sunshine here but I was working... Hope you enjoyed Housewife 49 BTW, I thought Victoria Wood was excellent in it.

P.S. Shall be nabbing the pasta recipe - sounds yummy.

Yes, I did enjoy Housewife 49, thanks! I then watched "The Holiday" afterwards which was also quite nice easy watching!

Re the washing machine - someone OH works with did mention that they were moving in with a new partner and therefore would be selling her almost new machine.....I have expressed an interest, and OH is going to ask again about it when he next sees her, as that would be most cost effective.

Otherwise, I will get a new one next weekend - I certainly can't manage without one for long :(

Hypno, have you checked the filter on the washer, that is often the cause of a non-draining drum or possibly that there is a kink/blockage in the pipe.

If the filter isn't visible, then the whereabouts can often be found via Google ;)

Weather has been quite pleasant here today :D

I've done the filter and the tube several times in the hope it will clear but to no avail. judging by how little water is coming out now, I think that it is def the pump.

Fingers crossed that I can get this other one soon from OH work colleague!

Hmmmmm, is it draining at all at any time during the cycle, or does it just fill and keep agitating as the cycle moves on?

My other thought is....on my washers, there is a valve that closes when the power goes on and then when the wash cycle ends, it opens and allows the water to escape with the aid of the pump.....now if no water is leaving then maybe the valve is sticking closed.....might be worth a look if the replacement doesn't come soon :D

Some water is draining away but not very much. It has been doing this for several months now, and to start with I could manually drain all the water away, now I just get about a third of the water out.
