Proof of posting means you can claim for your loss from royal mail. Its exactly the same coverage as recorded delivery so I don't know why your convinced the coverage is better.

I don't merge threads where the initial question was from different view points unless I'm asked by both OPs, also I'm not sure your advice is helpful as you are under a missaprehension of how paypal and recorded works.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. nope,if you want consequential loss then you use a service that covers it
thats SD with consequential loss insurance added
edit: you 'only 6 1st class stamps' gives you compensation value of £2.34
your RD letter would have cost £1.14 to send for a standard letter
Sad that the royal mail cannot guarantee delivery even when sent recorded delivery..... they don't have much faith in themselves if they have to charge more for 'consequential loss'.

for starters recorded delivery makes no difference
its not about faith, its about protection
RM charge £5 for a letter SD and are then liable for £1000's in consequential loss on every item
just not feasible0
