the same way as the UK you can hire a car for any period, ie one day, the insurance will be included in the price of the hire car.

roads are far easier to navigate too as there are no round abouts to confuse drivers
Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right

never being there before maybe i am thinking of it all wrong, i really think that most things we will be doing will be either in Universal Studios, IOA, or on I Drive, and the only things we will be travelling to is the Arabian Knights show and the Space centre, maybe i have it so wrong, but i will make the most of it, and maybe go back sometime, with a car, if i feel brave enough! thanks again

Don’t worry! Seriously. Orlando is what you make of it whichever way you do it. The number one requirement is to go in the right frame of mind.

Don’t over plan-keep flexible. Leave the sceptic at home. HAVE FUN! Relax into it, find the kid in you and go with the cheesy American ‘you have a great day now’ flow and you’ll have a ball.

We always rent a villa and car and travel around a bit because we LIKE it that way. Others we know stay on site in Disney and never drive-they LOVE it!

thanks, im sure we will have a good time either way, im not going to panic or fret about no car just yet, we did Dallas last year with no car though everything i read said u really needed one, and we saw everything we planned on seeing (which was loads!) without one, and it was so spread out, but if i like Orlando and i go back, maybe we will rethink the car, thanks for all the advice so far, i think between the I Trolley, Lynx, Greyhound and taxis i mite manage ok,

are taxis everywhere like NYC, or few and far between?

    I've been Money Tipped!
I took my kids to France for the day last month.

No OH with me, a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old, and a whole day driving on the wrong side of the road and to add to the fun, I decided to do Disneyland from Calais, for the day. 6 hour round trip.

The thought of the driving was really scaring me, but 10 minute in, felt relaxed, got into the pace of the road, and only got lost once ( and don't have Sat Nav either to rescue me)

But I did it, even enjoyed it and had I given in to my fear, my kids wouldn't have had the amazing day they had. It really is worth overcoming the fear of the unknown for the experience IMO.

well i made it home in one piece!! i had a ball, its a fab place!!! and im defo going back!! i just need to start saving!!!

well we managed ok without a car and the only thing we didnt get to was KSC,

im really not sure any of us could have managed at all with the driving, the size of the roads, being able to turn on red, its all so mad

    but we had a blast!

the hotel had a free shuttle to the parks, and right outside the door was both a bus stop and a trolley stop, so it all worked out ok,

thanks to all for your advice,
