    Thanks everyone for your replies,

Happy belated birthday wishes pinkduvetdiva & sorry but there's no way I would give these tickets up.

Lacey is her first child & she is a little nervous about leaving her all night for the first time also dad is at work the following morning.

I think the best bet is to wait till the tour starts then give ticketmaster a ring as suggested by pinkduvetdiva, failing all that I think I may stick to my original plan and drive.

So here's another question for you all, the best place to park near MEN arena that's easy to exit after the show.

    Thanks again
    Jayne

The Arena car park is attached to the Arena, but I would imagine difficult to get off (busy). There's one 5 mins walk away at the bus station, on Shude Hill. We use that one when we go into Manchester. The Arndale one is just as close, but bigger.

Just checked and it says Rick Astley on at 7.30 but cant see anything about when Peter Kay is on/off. Parking at the Arena is normally about £10 and a nightmare to get out if you leave same time as everyone else. If you left before the end you might have a chance to get out car park quickly. Or if you get there early and park near the exit then you might be able to get out ahead of the rush.

    Hello
Just found this info. on ticketmaster

    7.30pm Support Act
    8.00pm Interval
    8.25pm Peter Part 1
    9.05pm Interval
    9.30pm Peter Part 2
    10.15pm Show ends.

All times are aproximate and subject to change with no prior notice.

Saw a review about the 1st night and there was a delay on him going on but cant imagine that will happen everynight. Hope the timings help, though if you want to stay to the end looks like the train isnt an option.
I'm going on Tues and really looking forward to it.

The old Boddington factory site has £3 all day parking and is opposite the entrance to the MEN carpark. However while we got there in the afternoon and parked with no problems, in the evening little men in yellow coats pretending to be official were blocking the entrance and directing unsuspecting drivers to their own more expensive car parks!
And it took a while to get out of as the police blocked the road and sent people the other way to ease the traffic so we had to do a circular tour of central manchester to get out. Thank god for satnav.

    Morning all,

Not checked the thread for a while, so thanks for all the replies,

We will be going to see peter kay tonight, glad I decided to drive now the train looks like it would have been way to early for us, thanks to lyndaH for the schedule,

Thanks elsien for the info on the Boddington car park think I will give that one a miss,

Still not sure on the parking, I think it's a wait and see till we get there,

Thanks everyone can't wait for tonight :rotfl:
  • Just a word of warning regarding parking. Those offial looking men mentioned in an earlier post blocking the entry to the car park are not official at all (surprise)! They wear yellow reflective jackets & appear to direct you to official car parks, but they're little more than side streets or any vacant plots in the area. Worse still, if you unlucky enough to get there early, you'll most likely find yourself blocked in with other cars when you come to leave! Best be is to find on road parking around 1/4 mile from the arena. Better still, it's usually free that time of night:beer:

    Hi all.

I am going tonight (can't wait!) and we still haven't decided if we should go by train or drive.

Our train leaves from Victoria station. There is one at 10.40 p.m and one at 11.09. I would prefer to go by train, but I am a little worried that if we have to get the last train, we might not get on. Surely it is going to be packed!

I have heard that lots of cars get broken into around the area. My friend went last week, and said there were lots of cars on the MEN carpark with broken windows etc. Also can't be bothered waiting around in traffic for ages after.

So, does anyone know of any secure carparks about a 10 min walk from the stadium, so hopefully would be easier to get away. Or does anyone know what the last trains from Victoria are like.

It's my first time at the MEN, and don't know the area at all, so any help would be much appreciated.
