There was concern that it would just become a place for people to post pictures of their pets and chat about pets in general.
If a Pets Board was introduced it would need to be a Pets Moneysaving board, not just a general chat board.

I would love to see a pets board. We're thinking about getting a dog and it would be great to talk to people about breeds and costs and things.

I've got 3 cats and 3 dogs and love animals, but I don't think there's any need for a specific board. There's masses of info already here about pet moneysaving, and quite frequently the posts degenerate when pet haters start slagging off the pet lovers.
If there's anything specific you want to know about, there's usually a place to post.

i was actually just thinking yesterday that this would be a useful board, as i got a couple of cats a few months ago but moneysaving advice seems to be quite scattered and searching the forums doesn't always help. def needs a few rules like no endless pic posting, cos although i think my tigger and pooh are gorgeous, i'm sure others would get bored scrolling through photos of them!Wiggly:heartpulsFB0

Not least because 'cat' and 'dog' don't show up on a search. I think it would be really usefull to have everything pet related in one place rather than scattered over the boards. Do we have an official response on this yet? Just run, run and keep on running!0

I think it'd be a great idea, but it would rapidly turn into the kind of Agony Aunt area that Marriage & Relationships has become.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal.
