how about having a sub board for pets?? poss on family or in my home boards. could contain info on things like insurance, moneysaving on food/kennels/flea treatment etc??
just seems that there is no set place, and threads on these subjects spring up all over the forum, as folks dont know where to put them.
whaddya think guys???
ps- i would of course, volunteer myself to be BG

Yes PLEASE PLEASE can we have a Pets sub board somewhere? I never know where to look, and as there are always lots of posts about pets I'm sure it would be popular.0

Yes it would be a good idea as so many people own pets and a lot of us are unaware of. If we knew how to save money on vet bills, food, treatments etc and the benefits of these it could help a lot of people.Sometimes you are scared to try out new food, treatments etc as you are unsure if they would work & have no one to give you feedback -if there was a thread on here it would help people share advice & experiences.
People could also find good places to purchase animals for example independent cat, dog, rabbit rehoming centres that would save them money and also mean they would get good advice. My friend wasted a fortune buying what he thought was a pedigree dog from a breeder that had to be put down eventually because it was badly breed ( had genetic faults causing agression - it was so sad). He later found out if he had contacted his local retriver rehoming scoiety they would have warned him about the breeder & recommended a good safe breeder instead. He never knew it existed at the time.
Also a lot of people are scared to post on other boards as a lot of dog, cat haters start turning a serious query into an argument, uhmn:rolleyes:0 -

From memory, I think this was one of the reasons why a Pets Board was turned down in the past. (Not Eccles in particular!)
There was concern that it would just become a place for people to post pictures of their pets and chat about pets in general.
If a Pets Board was introduced it would need to be a Pets Moneysaving board, not just a general chat board.0 -
I imagine it would be a busy board, but what area would it be a sub board of? Pet insurance goes in the insurance board, making your own food, cleaning up after them etc crops up in OS, questions about brands of food etc often end up in DT and I can see a place for it in the families board.
It's a good idea though, as long as it didn't become a place to post pics or talk about pet behaviour etc, as has been mentioned. It should be a money saving board.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
