Afternoon all
My work kids did a fundraising bag pack in a local Morrisons store today and raised a grand total of £350!!!! :j:j:j:j I'm so proud of them! They all worked really hard, and were very polite to all the customers. I'm dumbfounded by the amount, I thought we'd get around £150
I'm absolutely knackered now. I've done a lot of driving this week in a big minibus in which the gear stick struggles to go into 1st or 2nd properly! You really have to yank it, so my shoulder is hurting a tad!
No idea what to have for dinner, may order a takeaway
Hope everyone is ok, not taken in the thread today

Evening all
Well the car failed
so it is now going to cost £210 to get it put right then Car tax of £190  = £400
I bet the leccie bill is going to be huge too, then that will be closely followed by water rates and council extortion fee  plus I have had reminders for the dentist and optician - I hope I have enough in the cupboards and freezers to last me at least 3 months to try and pull the savings back. By my reckoning that lot is going to cost near enough £1000  so bye bye the majority of our savings - still at least we don't have to use the credit card and that is a real blessing.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Sending good vibes to Tris and Frank and crossing fingers.
DD (21) back home for a month . DH drove to Newcastle and picked her up with some stuff to store at home.
Spent the morning sorting out the cupboard under the stairs that has cleaning materials, shampoo, toiletries, toothpaste etc in it. It had got to a state where no one could find what they needed. Cleaned the shelves and got everything organised so not only can we find stuff but I can see at a glance if we are running out of something.
Made DD salad for lunch and tea was salmon fillet, new potatoes and broccoli.
Had two seperate viewings in the last ten days but neither seemed to be at a stage where they knew what they wanted.
Phone rang at lunchtime and we have a viewing on Sunday morning. DH's reaction - "What about Sunday lunch?" Pointed out that if his meal was more important to him than selling the house , maybe we should just take it off the market.
Hugs to everyone."This site is addictive!"

Hugs to all, especially Smoky....thought of you all on Wednesday but couldn't get on here....think its the monitor as if I switch it off and then on again it comes back for at least enough time for me to read a short post...will have to get some of the people in the family who understand electronics to see what they can find!
DS1 and family off for their annual Japan visit to-morrow and then DS2 is off soon to London to work, his company have opened a new office there so hopefully it will work out for him....there is nothing very much going onin the mechanical engineering line here...at least this is a move rather than a new job. Will miss him very much even though wwe only see him about once a week for about 10 minutes.
Did my mock interviews for DD4 this morning...god help the poor students they were scared and some of them had Irish as fluent as my Chinese. Still its over for us all now.
Going mad with this on off business so will say that I hope that everyone who has been ill is improving..hugs to all in need or want, hope to return to normal service soon

Sunnygirl yes it is St Ann's and Hughie is my late brother's youngest son.He really is a lovely man, and has been there with his wife and two young sons for about 12 years.I loved it when I was up there how after morning service he gets all the congregation to go for a cuppa and a biscuit in the church hall and everyone chats away to each other I found it such a lovely atmosphere and the folk were smashing. he really does care about all the folk in the parish and will talk to anyone and everyone no matter what denomination they are . a lovely village as well and not at all what I thought Lancashire would be like .
Well the good news so far is that big Frank is doing well so far, and they are pleased that his wife had been so prompt in getting an ambulance for him so he could get treated asap. This limited the damage done to the muscle surrounding his heart. He had an echocardiogram this afternoon and hopefully they will let him go home after the weekend if he keeps on progressing as well as he has ,so its fingers crossed and lots of prayers and positive vibes.
They are such a smashing couple and have been married 55 years.
I have been so busy today I still haven't had time to make my smoked mackerel pate, but it will be done tomorrow.
I think I may have an early night tonight as I didn't sleep too well last night, my joints were a bit stiff as the dampness was on the way,its drizzling at the moment, but this Sunday the forecast is looking good so I may get a chance to sort my pots out on the patio.I can't do a great deal of gardening anymore as I don't bend quite as well as I once did, so I stick to pots of flowers on the patio. I have a good stash of seeds that I will start off in the conservatory then plant out in May if the weather is o.k. I do miss growing my own veggies, but its just not practical for me to do it anymore.Just about manage mustard & cress now
.I do love that in boiled egg sandwiches though.Right I'm off to read my new Karen Slaughter book that I got from the libray today
Good night, and God bless all here
