$90k will not be enough to cover two years over there, never mind the four. Harvard themselves estimate that a year will cost roughly $50k.0

You did say she had enough for 3 years tuition, which people calculated to mean around 60k ($90k), which is reasonable enough.
And since this is a moneysaving website, obviously money is always one of the top considerations. No one is suggesting she's spoilt etc, but if there is a job where young people can earn a decent wage whilst still at school, people are obviously interested. Regardless, more power to her if she has the willpower to save that kind of money, regardless of source (and I'm sure everyone will agree with me).
cheers raggs
yes i said it and she does have a lot of dosh, people are giuessing pretty well
what i didnt say is how she got that money, and its not for me to tell.
everyone assumed she worked for it all and assumed how much she had yet i never said she worked for it all, i simply said she works
and some posters seemed to have a hard time with that
it is now in this post i will say
she has saved that money (said this once already) she has a job that pays just above min wage (i asked)
she is still working and still saving
it does not have to be harvard (said this loads now)
and now to put an end
MANY MANY THANKS FOR ALL THE LINKS AND ADVICE:)
esp do the degree in uk then have a semester or more in US, am trying to persuade her thats the way to go,63 mortgage payments to go.

Hi, good luck to your daughter, I hope she can live her dream. As to how people save, well all sorts of routes. My daughter was left some money when grandmother died so she is better off than many students. She also worked hard, up to 30 hrs a week during her A levels. She also works in uni holidays and has two jobs at uni. If your daughter has saved hard then good for her.
A friends daughter did find a good way to save up for uni, as a little one she recorded a song for a kids TV series, just a fluke really as her voice is nice but not amazing. When it was redone she was asked to do it again. She got paid and every year since gets a nice cheque for royalties. Nice work if you can get it.Sell £1500
