It is now August and Eat-it-Now's service is still every bit as bad as it was earlier this year. I found this thread simply by putting Is Eat-it-Now a scam? into Google because I have become very suspicious of the company. Its service is so bad I began to wonder if it was legitimate or just some kind of phishing con to get people's details when they register with the site. It is so painfully slow to update when your try to place an order that I thought my machine had crashed. When you do try to place an order something always seems to go wrong half way through the ordering process. I tried to place an order on Friday evening and according to the site every single takeaway in West Yorkshire was closed! The Just Eat site works perfectly. I notice that although Eat-it-now is registered as a company it is on the Isle of Man and wonder if this is to sidestep trading laws.0

Why do the entries i have come across all have a 091 phone number costing £1.50+ per minute. Why could they not use a 0845 number?0

Why have you registered to post the same message on three different threads?0

I was going to give Just Eat a go the other week until I got chatting to the man in my local Chinese who told me that for every order placed via Just Eat they are lose 10% of the price to the company.
Well they don't work out of the goodness of their hearts. Surely it would be obvious the take away have to pay a fee for the service?
If they take card over the phone they still loose about 4-5%ish when you consider terminal rental + transaction fees0 -
Do not order from this site.
I have 2 restaurants that are listed on their website. The contact numbers to make orders are not ours, and I don't know who are actually cooking the food being ordered by the customers.
My friends also have their restaurants listed on the website that have wrong contact numbers listed.
I spoke with one of their customer services staff, Danielle Clarke, tonight, 11/6/12, and she claimed that they had permission from us dated 4 years ago. When asked to provide that proof of my authorisation, she then said that they didn't need any. I could not speak to any of her managers, as there weren't any there in the evening.
She did say that she will get my restaurants taken off their website - I shall provide an update on this soon.
Thieves. Unfortunately, I don't have enough faith in the justice system to waste my time reporting them to the police - as it's unlikely that they'd follow this up, because I'm based in London, and these scumbags are registered on the Isle on Man...... :mad:0
