I've ordered food online twice using this sort of company, there isnt going to be a third time.
First they got my order totally wrong as they didnt have the latest menu for the takeaway I was ordering from.
The Second time I placed the order, waited nearly 2 hours with no delivery, phoned the takeaway to find out where my order was to be told they dont deliver (and never have!)
I've now gone back to ordering food by phone.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
i have used justeat and i would recommend all the time, sometime though it's best to order from the takeaway.0

If you are a loyal customer of your local takeaway I'd recommend not using these companies.
I was going to give Just Eat a go the other week until I got chatting to the man in my local Chinese who told me that for every order placed via Just Eat they are lose 10% of the price to the company.0 -
I don't think companies like Justeat can be blamed for inaccurate menu's i imagine it is the companies that use the site's responsibility to tell justeat what their menu is. These online takeaway companies have thousands of takeaway places linked to them and they can't chase them all up. As i see it they are basically a company that provides a simple way of ordering your food online at the press of a few buttons.
As for the 10% cut, takeaways sign up to use this service so they wouldn't do that unless it was worth their while. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks everyone for your input, turns out the company are in fact legitimate, and as of today I have received a full refund... I guess it was just a lapse in customer service that caused all the probs/delay, I still haven't gotten to the bottom of why the restaurant denied knowing the company but no matter, that is the last time I will be using the online service though.

Surely better that the 10% went into the local business' pocket though eh?0 -
I used fillymybelly once and it was a great service, I did opt to pay at the door instead of online though but overall was pleased with what i gotLearning to be 'good with money'0

First off I will start with an apology to anyone that has experienced difficulties when using our service. My name is David Brown and I am one of the Lead Developers at Eat It Now. I can assure everyone we are a legitimate business and working furiously to ensure customer service is perfected so that everyone feels that they can trust our service and is 100% in-the-know at every stage of their order so they _dont_ have to chase up the takeaway directly.
Our company details _can_ be found on our website with some digging, but thanks for bringing this to light and I will personally ensure this is clearer in the future.
I take customer complaints extremely seriously and have passed your case directly to Customer Services for a more detailed investigation. I can but again apologise for the lack of follow up with regards your specific order. If you would like to PM your email address, I will trace your specific order and find out exactly why the takeaway in question experienced problems on that evening.
To address some of the other comments in this thread, thanks to everyone that has used and vouched for our service. A small number of takeaways do experience problems from time to time, but I'm sure J-E and any number of our competitors do on occasion too; we are currently striving to improve our service to customers so that people know we are real people and we really appreciate your feedback to help us improve.
With regards the cut we take, we too started as a legitimate 'local' business that is striving to help the takeaways we have on our website the opportunity to grow and come on board a service that would have cost them much more to develop themselves. We not only have the .co.uk site, we also have an iPhone app, a mobile site (for most other SmartPhones) and a business site that allows our clients access to a huge array of different business utilities.
We offer much more than blinding taking a cut for putting their menu on our website and stores in the North West (around our base) would confirm how well this works for them (we are just catching up ensuring all our signed up stores receive this same level of service). No one forces takeaway owners to sign up to our services but I can't speak for any of our competitors on how they operate their businesses; my hope is they don't either.
Sorry for the lengthy delay in spotting this post, and the rather sales pitch-esce response, I just want people to know we are a real business with real people and we really are here to improve our site and improve our service. Any questions please feel free to PM me.0 -
David you need to ask MSE for permission to post on behalf of your Company. Your post will be deleted if you don't.0
