  • Hi,
I agree that the Ebico rises could have been worse. However , with 'small company' worries and not being a christian, I think its enough for me to go to BG Green Click Energy . I'm just a mug punter but the way I see it is that BG is able to hammer their millions who don't know or care about saving.( They could be the SANE ones because my 100 pound in saving so far has probably taken 100 hours of effort mainly cos I reported npower's cheating to energywatch.) Anyway, this allows BG to offer the cheapest internet rate. Clever marketing really because when someone eventually wants to leave BG they find that another BG rate is the cheapest rate on the net. I do fear the premium numbers to contact them. npower was 0845 and they'd phone you back if a delay, cool. Anyone see problems with this analysis?.

No nothing wrong with your analysis.

However don't expect much objective comment on this Forum about BG(particularly) and come to think of it Powergen, NPower, EDF etc.

Interesting post. Both your comments (company size and non christian) are exactly what my brother has been trained to tell people to put them off Ebico, and he works in telesales for BG. Now if I had a suspicious mind...

  • Hi XBigman, No I'm not some BG plant. How to prove it? My history is that I was a BG/EDF(LE) customer who used energyhelpline to move to npower. Only to find that npower signonline deal had about 3 different price levels and I was slugged with a much higher rate than their advertised one. Energyhelpline claimed to know nothing about these rates and so I went to Energywatch about it. Nowadays, if you enter energyhelpline pretending to be an npower customer already you can see that there are 4 different signonline rates which I believe is because of my action. This is a useful tactic if you're planning to change to a company, i.e. enter energyhelpline as if you were already a customer and see if there are hidden rates. I could send you my rather dramatic "Stopping the Npower 100m pound con-trick" letter if that's any use. My npower experience have led me to BG because I now have to ask myself how can they offer such cheap prices and it seems that with big mug customer base and the premium phone line and all done by email(something that npower had said they would introduce) it may be possible.
It's the first time I've entered any internet forum which is why I don't know what I shouldn't talk about, like all this probably. Anyway, having written all that I now feel like head of marketing at BG. However, I really do have no connections with the company, nor any affections for the monopoly-wielding monolith except wher I can profit from it and would like to prove it in any way that helps you retract the implied accusation. Let me know what you need and where. Mick O'Neill

There isn't anything you can't talk about really, but a low number of posts and a mail putting forward a company point of view will always be a bit suspicious.
Just keep posting and let people get to know you and we will all form our own opinions in time.

I do however dispute both points made in your earlier post.
Ebico work through Southern and you have the security of Southern handling your money and supply, so Ebico being a small company is not a problem. If Ebico went under Southern would take over the account.
Ebico is run on christian ethics, IE non profit and fair to everyone. This is because of the beliefs of the owners and nothing to do with customers religion.

Having been a Pgen customer for the last 20 years and an online one for the last two and a half.
(with all the problems associated with this company, too many to go into now)
Even I have now seen the light and I`m in the process of switching to EBICo.

As for British Gas,I think I would rather use candles than trust that bunch of cowboys.
Laughed at their full page ad in today`s paper about their "fix and fall" tariff.
It says other companies have increased their prices TWICE this year but BG has done something about it by introducing this latest deal.
They forget to say that they were the first to put prices up (and everyone followed) and have also put up prices TWICE and if you take into account this latest tariff that`ll be three times this year.
How can people be gullible and believe their speil when they ripped us off for years as a monopoly?
  • Yes Southern is a large company, i have been with Ebico for over a year no problems with them at all.

But you must check you bills, i give them the two readings on the first day of each month.

They have made some terrible mistakes, for example they have charged Vat on both the Vat inclusive Ebico prices.

I have just looked at my last 12 months and they have overcharged me £65 0n the Electric & £ 54 on the Gas,well on my reckoning anyway.
All i am saying is keep your eye on the bills as they come in.

Yes Derek, you`re correct but this applies to any company.
Being with Pgen online for the last two and half years,it`s only the last bill that was right in all that time.
