My email said in the subject line 21st & 22nd March, but in the message 20th & 21st March.

    Never noticed until now.

All my stuff listed yesterday was free, so it looks like the heading was wrong.

Listed stuff yesterday (Sat) and today (Sun)- all free, and extra pics too!

Anyone using this free listing weekend ought to consider recalculating their postal costs to take into account the new rates from 6th April. 10 day listings started on Sunday for instance will finish on Wednesday 31st . If they pay Wednesday night you are fine as you can post Thursday, but if not there is no post on the Friday so you will either have to post on Saturday morning as I assume post offices will be open, or wait until after the bank holiday on Tuesday 6th when the new rates apply.
Even if you end before Wednesday 31st and people take three or four days to pay the two bank holidays still mean you could well be posting with the new rates.

shooot i forgot about that!!!! thanks for the reminder as have had to list stuff on 10 days due to being away.

FYI it was 99p stuff I was re-listing so not just done it to take advantage of free listing.

I missed the free listing days, and I have loads to list.

Does anyone know when the next one will be?

No but the notices are usually posted on here about three days before they take place, so if you log in on a regular basis you'll probably catch the next one. Also if you sign up for ebay notices you stand a good (not guaranteed!) chance of getting notification about 2 days before.

Expect a wait of at least a month, possibly more.

Did anyone else's email from eBay mistakenly say the two free days were 21st and 22nd in the subject? Mine did! I'm really annoyed because I've only just read on this forum that the free days were actually today and tomorrow - I've got loads of stuff I wanted to list for free and was going to do it on Monday as I'm busy all day tomorrow. Had I known earlier that the free day was actually today I would have done it hours ago instead of sitting on my bum doing nothing :( I might complain to eBay and see if they'll let me list for free on Monday anyway as their email was misleading... I doubt it though!

Like you thriftymanc, I have received the email with the wrong dates on it. Got the mail on Friday and didn't open it until today when sorting the stuff out to be listed. Couldn't list over the weekend as busy. I have complained to eBay via a chat session with one of their representatives - she couldn't help and has had to pass the matter on.

Think eBay should at least offer free listing to those who got the mail with different dates on the subject line and in the main advert body of the mail.

I am awaiting ebay's response but could take 24 hrs!!!

How many others saw the email and have listed today believing it would be free and have incurred a listing fee!
  • I've been on the phone with eBay and they keep telling me it's a spam message and had been refusing to credit me for an item I inadvertently deleted this morning and wanted to relist with a longer auction time.

Fortunately they finally gave in, but I am amazed at how stubborn they are given they make their money from the community and should keep us happy when they make mistakes.
  • I got the message with the dates of 21st and 22nd March in the heading and didn't open it...I mean come on - you expect eBay to know the dates of free listing?

Result was I went to upload my auctions today and couldn't understand why I wasn't getting free listings.

Cheers eBay - total c*ck up on your part.
