    !!!!!! I was going to list stuff on my Private account this weekend. Will have to wait till next weekend then so it doesn't get caught up in all the Tosh on Free listings and I get rubbish prices.

    Can't believe ebay has a house who lives there? Maybe that explains why the CS don't have a clue they don't live in the real world:D

    Please don't assume everyone who takes advantage of free listings is listing 'tosh' as you call it!

    I'm afraid from my experience most of it is which is my opinion which I am allowed and a lot of people agree with so no need to get narky about it. Its an opinion which there are many ofyou have one I have one they differ.

    Nope, no special codes :)

    Do read the terms and conditions though, as upgrades aren't covered, and they sometimes exclude turbo lister or odd little conditions.

    I'm sure not all of it is, but lots of people will be putting stuff on that has no hope of selling, just because they can.

    Not narky at all, just saying don't assume, that's all :).
    TBH I list a lot of stuff starting at 99p so the only thing free listing might make me do is start a few £'s more!
    The sensible people can see the tosh anyway imho!

    The problem I see though is that buyers spend all their time weeding out the tosh (i'm using that word too much today sorry :D) They either miss the good listings or those listings actually get lower prices that they would of due to the mas of listings. I have in the past listed very similar items one on a free listting weekend one on a normal listing day. The price I got was significent. Even with ebay fees I was better off paying for a listing. Which is why I avoid those weekends now. Its just incinvenient now as I havw just looked out a lot of stuff to list on my private account. So i'll be waiting another week before I do that.

    Fair enough, I am listing/have been listing over last few days so anything this weekend will be re-lists. Do you have lots of stars ? That surely helps, or am I naive ?

    I certainly wouldn't put up my decent books near a free listing day as they get buried in all the tat, all those 1p novels that people are convinced they should get a tenner for. As I pay to list it would be a waste of money for me to enter a crowded category like books, so i'll hold off.

    I must admit though to placing speculative items for sale via my private account on a free listing day, just becasue I can.
