These are a few off the top of my head. Details need working out.
The last sentence made me laugh!
How do you stop me thinking i deserve more money because i work harder/longer than the guy next to me? If you don't solve this problem, then i'll work less hard, but then so will the guy who thinks he should get more than me! Then after a while we'll all be sitting in a field on our bottoms thinking "Tony and Gordon weren't so bad after all..."
Obviously the last part is a jokeAnnual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery0 -

Basic income is not instead of earning, it's in addition to earnings. If you feel you're working harder than the guy next to you, and should be paid more, take it up with your employer.0 -

But what about the geezer who realises he can get his basic pay (in your system) without raising a finger? Presumably there are still laws that dictate what i can and can't do to him to "motivate" him?
If he still earns he can still afford to rent his accommodation, so he can sit on his bum all day
Also, where does all the IHT money and rent go to if we have no government?
Who's in charge of that? The Japanese? Neil Kinnock?Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery0 -
I didn't say no government, I said no political parties. No one shall 'realise' they can get basic income without effort, it shall be made clear to all at the outset. I quote from someone who explains it better than I can:
"compared to the existing welfare system, Basic Income provides a strong financial incentive for creative and productive activity. With Basic Income it's more financially rewarding to move from unemployment into a job – because you keep your Basic Income payments, whereas you would lose your dole. Many common types of work – eg low-paid casual, part-time or self-employed work – increase your disposable income under a Basic Income scheme, whereas the income from such work is subtracted from your dole under the current system. Many worthwhile activities – adult education, voluntary work, starting a business, etc – are penalised or even criminalised under the current welfare system, because they interfere with the condition of "continuous availability for work." Most wealth-creating activity begins modestly, perhaps not generating enough for a person to survive on at first. Basic Income nurtures such activity, whereas the welfare system aborts it."
If somone is able to live entirely off their basic income, and chooses to do so, that shall not be penalised. Why would you want to motivate him? You have the same choice as him, and you chose to work, presumably becuase you want to buy things that you could not afford on your basic income alone.0 -

We can all come up with a wish list that's easy.
I believe you were asked "how" you propsed to change things and by that I mean specfically what actions are you going to take to try and change the system
e.g. write to your MP, protest with banners etc.
I'ts good to discuss ideas, but just dreaming or complaining is a waste of time.
My interpretation of the question posed to you was - "what exactly are you going to do to try and change things" not "what would you like to see happen".0 -
Armed uprising by an outraged citizenry. What's on your wish list, miss smarty pants?0

I said "just dreaming" was a waste of time.
i.e. dreaming and doing nothing about it.
If it spurs you on to do something then it's good, but without action it's useless.0
