  • Just stopping for lunch ... still at it. It's nice to pop in here on a break. A bit like nipping into the common room at sixth form... :rotfl:

Why oh why do carrots take so long to microwave? Eh?

Work is looking good. A few more nips and tucks and I'll be done.

    Then I restart my revision...

Oh, will the joy never end?

  • I just heard this on Radio 4 and thought I'd share it:

Be nice to yu turkeys dis christmas
Cos' turkeys just wanna hav fun
Turkeys are cool, turkeys are wicked
An every turkey has a Mum.
Be nice to yu turkeys dis christmas,
Don't eat it, keep it alive,
It could be yu mate, an not on your plate
Say, "Yo! Turkey I'm on your side."
I got lots of friends who are turkeys
An all of dem fear christmas time,
Dey wanna enjoy it, dey say humans destroyed it
An humans are out of dere mind,
Yeah, I got lots of friends who are turkeys
Dey all hav a right to a life,
Not to be caged up an genetically made up
By any farmer an his wife.

from '"Talking Turkeys" by Benjamin Zephaniah

Think I may consider going back to being a vegan in the new year...

min don't be daft, ALL my friends are turkeys but i eat them anyway :rotfl:

haev to say never understood veggies/vegans the animals we eat are bred to be eaten, it's the point of thier existence, who are we to take away their reason for living (or dying as the case may be!)?

Ooh, you've raised a whole debate there, lynsayjane. But I won't go into it here!

All I will say is that the poem is a good un (and it made you reply!) and that what you choose to eat is up to you.

  • Needless to say I'm with you on the turkey thing Mins! ;):D

Good luck with the vegan thing if you go down that road in 2007. I've tried (and failed) but BF is still off dairy since about April time.

But we both still eat free range eggs (free range only) so he's not quite vegan.

Just make sure you get enough iodine if you do go vegan hon.
