Anyway what I originally came back online for was the other day I saw a recipe for Mackeral pate and I don't know if it was on here or not I looked through the only magazine in the house and its not in there so I am hoping its one that someone posted
If I can remember rightly it was
    2 ozs smoked mackerel
and I think 2 ozs of cream cheese and something else but I can't rremember what it was Anyone have a recipe as I really fancy some smoked mackerel pate on toast.QUOTE]

Jackie, I have made the following before and its delish :D, I think it might have been Haribo's recipe originally.

2 smoked mackerel fillets, skinned and flaked
    about 1/2 oz butter
    1 - 2 tsp horseradish (to taste)
    2 tsp lemon juice
    milk, or single cream.

either use a processor or a fork, mix the top 4 ingredients together until the mackerel is as flaked as you like it. Then add milk or cream ( or cream cheese would work) until its like a pate.

It really is a nice pate, there is also a smoked salmon one which is equally as nice.

    Hope you enjoy xx

Edited to say, hugs to Donny today xxx

BB yes I forgot to say earlier that I looked at that site. It was interesting and have forwarded it on to my friend. She is looking for other parents who have kids with Retts. I have a local autism group I go to but there seems to be nothing for Retts

Maybe there's an on-line support group, if not a reasonably local real-life one?
I don`t think I am amazing but thanks for the compliment:o. I cant imagine DS any other way....despite his difficulties he is the funniest, most loving boy and am beyond proud of him

I too think you are fab, and I couldn't imagine how I would cope with half of the things you have on a daily basis :A

Hi everyone. Thought I'd just share my joy at finally washing the 4 huge net curtains in the big bay and scrubbing the windows inside and out. Bound to rain now! So good to make a start on the spring cleaning - it means it is at last SPRING!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Once when I was pregnant with DS2 I had an *amazing* dream like that about Phil Mitchell from Eastenders :o:rotfl: I think that you are amazing too and an inspiration. Hugs to you xxxxx

On late today as I decided not to turn on the PC this morning. Finished the 4 week course this afternoon and start on the work placement on Monday. That'll be full time Mon - Fri so I'll be shattered I imagine. I've just got to the point where I can stay up until 10pm as well :p

We're having a proper tea party to celebrate DD finishing her current primary school placement and me finishing my course tonight. Ham & Cheese sandwiches cut into little triangles, cheese cubes, crisps in a big bowl, pink angel cake, party ring biscuits and jelly & ice cream :T I'll do some salad as well to get a portion or so more veg into everyone. It'll be a retro nostalgic tea straight from the 70's :D

    VickyA :bdaycake::bdaycake: Happy Birthday xxx

Have a nice evening everyone & I'll catch up tomorrow xx
  • SG that sounds like one of DS`s party teas:D. Glad the course etc has gone well:T

NPM, the mind boggles. Did you see that Jeremy Kyle featured the Platt family today. I've never watched JK, I don't like all that airing of dirty washing in public, but I've V+ this for me and OH to watch.

    Happy birthday Vicky A.

I found a recipe for the red cabbage, it looks yummy so I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thank you redruby for the recipe I have copy and pasted it into My Miser's online cook book. Will have a go with it tomorrow and let you know it sounds delicious
Just had a frantic phone call from my eldest DD her father-in-law Frank has been taken into hospital with a heart attack and has been moved from the hospital in Sidcup to Kings College in Denmark Hill, bless him his is 78 and a real lovely chap. I normally speak to his wife Margaret every night as she had her breast cancer two years before me so we are a mutual support pair.
it seems they think he has a blood clot and are going to try and find it and disperse it tonight. I do hope he will be o.k. as he is such a smashing old boy and always smiling and laughing. My DD and her OH are on their way there at the moment so I am hoping all will be o.k.If you do it, remember our big Frank tonight in your prayers.
    Thank you
