Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Thursday 18th March. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning.

Could not sleep too well, might be the extra glass of wine or the big roast chicken dinner...

Day off and it looks like it might be a wet day today.. Pity I was enjoying the sun and working on my boat, although a day of sanding has left my tennis elbow even worse.

Had many phone calls for people looking to buy the OH old car. I guess there must not be many cheaper cars about. Some guy has told me he is buying it... I said, "you have not seen it yet you may hate it". He said "I must have a car to get to work, I have no choice", so he is coming by bus with money.....
I guess I won't be accepting offers ! :rotfl:

Not too much else to report this way...

Have a good day

    Morning all

Feeling slightly less dizzy - yesterday I felt like I'd drunk a bottle of vodka and today feels like the morning after!

I really need to get out of bed today because a combination of laying all day and no painkillers has left me very sore.

Needless to day I will not be going to work today! Really kicking myself tho as I won;t get paid for yesterday or today and we really need the money! I have some MSing work booked for the weekend and I'm just hoping i'm going to be up to that.

Hope everyone has a good day x

    :beer:Happy Birthday VickyA:beer: Have a great day.

Hope you feel better asap JC.

Excellent news about the car N9eav, someone did tell me that 2nd hand cars are holding their value.

Thursday already :jnearly the weekend. Think will be in the office pretty much all day getting some book-keeping up straight. I got behind when I had computer problems, will be a weight off my mind once its done.

Easy dinner tonight - omelettes or eggs on toast. I have got to take DD for her last HPV injection so will probably be a late dinner.

MIL is popping over with my birthday present (its at the weekend) I shall probably be out when she comes :o

Not sure about the weather today - hope the sun shines again am getting used to it:)

Anyway, gotta get on. Have a good day.x

Morning all - how are you today?

It's a grim one here, the wind's been blowing all night and it's showery at the moment but with more rain on the way. Can't complain really, as we've not had much of this kind of weather this winter.

I'm debating whether to go into work or not this morning. I'm still feeling under the weather, but I've got a busy weekend coming up with all the family home for the first time since my parent's Ruby Wedding in 2007. Mind you, that's all weather dependent, and given the forecast, there might be problems with the ferry sailing tomorrow. Horns of a dilemma, methinks!

DH is off to Glasgow today for an MRI scan on his neck, so he's getting ready at the moment. Fingers crossed they'll get to the bottom of his problems as its getting him down. He's got a wee shopping list for when he's there, so hopefully he can manage that.

Have a good day everyone, and I hope that the sun is shining on you today!

    Morning all,

    Happy Birthday Vicky A :beer::bdaycake:

No rain here yet, but we are meant to be getting some later, shame I have enjoyed the sun, hope that was not our summer :rotfl:

Work again today, sainsbugs delivery coming tonight, egg chips and beans for tea :D, I need to do a wash tonight, and the general tidy round.

I see B & Q have 20% off of a £50 spend this weekend, we need 3 new internal doors, so might go and have a look at them, also talking of doors, when I took the dog for a walk the other day I passed a skip which had one of the same doors we have upstairs in, they are 1930's original doors with bakelite k n o b , so I sent OH up to ask if we could have it :o, the woman was lovely, and told us to take it, we needed one for the bathroom and thought that we would never get a matching one :T

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

    Morning all

Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.

Dry and overcast here today. Now on days off, yippee.... but list of jobs so long don't know where to start .....boooo!

Will be going to the scales shortly, have not been at all good this week, was away at the weekend and drank quite a bit then we've had ice-cream and chocolate, so not sure how much the scales will go up but I'm sure they will! Need to weigh and draw a line under it and start again.

Had delicious lamb hotpot last night, and have 2 portions left so they are now in the freezer. Tonights dinner is liver, bacon and sausage casserole for me and OH, boys will have sausage and mash. Must do menu plan and adjust on-line shopping list today for my delivery tomorrow night. DS1 has cookery at school today - he's making pizza base which will go in the school's freezer and then he will take the topping ingredients next week to finish it off. DS2 has swimming today.

Will be attempting to tackle housework and ironing, as well as all the other jobs on the list and must do some baking didn't get chance to do it last week and OH and boys have really missed it.

No other OS to report, so will go dry my hair and get my face on - at least I'll look semi-respectable then!

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good Morning Everyone!

    :jHappy Birthday VickyA:j

Hugs to Diva, and positive whes for Mr Nessie hope things go well in Glasgow today, tell him to give me a  on the way past!
Good news about the car N9eav.
jc I am having a mini flare up just now, too and it always leaves me dizzy and nauseous, so sympathy hugs to you.
    nmlcgood luck on the scales!
sistercas Mr T have a good offer on Easter Eggs just now, most are half price, Martin also had a good points wheeze in yesterdays newsletter for tesco points if you collect them.

I finally did a shop last night, took a mental shopping list which I was worrid about, and £50 with my debit card as backup just in case, and spent £49.27, so am delighted with that. Bought the dog a ham hough at the butcher's counter, and got a right telling off from the woman there, who shouted at me that "YOU SHOULDN'T GIVE DOGS RAW MEAT, THEY MIGHT GET POISONED" She was really annoyed at me, I felt like telling her where to stick it. I just laughes though and asked her how dogs managed to survive for thousands of years before tin openers were invented. You should have seen her face!

Off to work shortly, dinner tonight will be yorkies with veggie sausage hotpot thingie. (technical term)

Have a gorgeous day, hugs to anyone in need, and all who follow!

Good Morning all ,bit grey at the moment but it is at least dry which is good and not cold at all. NSD for me today i only have a letter to post so I won't even need to take my purse with me when I pop across to the presinct, no temptation that way either.general day of sorting out multitudes of paper and a general tidy up day I think. No school run this morning as Dd has a day off.Lots of salady bits left over from yesterday so I will hoover those up for lunch.Happy Birthday to VickyA and anyone else who has a birthday today.I once read that the most popular month to give birth was March for some reason, just before the end of the tax year :) I know it used to be popular to get marrid then as well. Right enough of my dribblings I must get on and have some breakfast ,no sign of Basil this morning as yet.
Take care all and have a great day

Grey and windy today - might have known the bright weather wouldn't last.
Have got to go and get some milk and soap powder today - all the heavy stuff because the old lady has her annual MOT tomorrow so we will be without a car - I just hope the old girl passes

Have had my shower and DS is just about ready to leave for school so I will get a few hours peace to finish the housework before DH gets home to take me.

DH is on a H&S course tomorrow and next Friday and DD staying at BF so I am looking forward to having the house to myself :D

Happy Birthday Vicky A - I hope you have a good day _party_

MSD .........Haven't heard from you for a couple of days. Are you OK?

jc...... I had the same problem when they changed my painkillers - It can take a couple of weeks for you to get used to them. If you feel that you really can't get on with them ask your doctor for different ones.

Hope everyone has a good day and ((((hugs )))) for those that need them

    Take care All x x x
